BBT and OPK's not lining up....

I got a negative OPK on CD 13 and 14, then I got a +OPK on CD 15 at 4 and 10 pm, and CD 16 at 4 pm. But at 10 pm on CD 16 was clearly a negative. Today is CD 17 and I got a negative OPK with FMU, but instead of seeing a BBT rise today, there was a clear dip. My CM has been really wacky since being on the supps and diet, it stays a constant watery/creamy and never gets EWCM, (yay since I am swaying girl!) but I have no idea if/when I actually O'ed.... If I O'ed today, why are my OPK's negative? If I O'ed yesterday, why didn't I see a rise in BBT's today? I also had O pain on the right side on CD 16.

I would say you ovulated when you had the dip.

I was wondering how many hours after O it takes for the progesterone to build up enough to see a rise in BBT? Let's say I O'ed on CD 16 sometime between 4 pm and 10 pm, which is why the 10 pm OPK on CD 16 could have been negative. Maybe it takes 24 hours to raise BBT, in which case I saw a dip today (CD 17) even though I O'ed CD 16 and then i will see a rise CD 18?

it's possible to get a delayed temp rise, or even a slow rise. It's also normal to OV up to 48hrs after the last positive OPK
was your low temp taken consistently and at the same time as the other temps?
have you had a rise today?

I was trying to put a link to my chart but I can't figure out how to do it.... I am trying to figure out when would have been O+12...(All temps taken at the same time and CM was checked in the morning as well)

CD 13: -OPK temps around 97.2-97.5 until CD 17, creamy CM
    CD 14: -OPK, creamy CM
CD 15: +OPK at 4 pm and 10 pm, creamy CM
    CD 16: +OPK at 4 pm, -OPK at 10 pm, O pain sharp on R, creamy/watery CM
CD 17: -OPK w/ FMU, temp dip to 96.8, watery CM
CD 18: 97.9, creamy/sticky CM so pretty sure O has passed

So if I went by the temp dip/rise it would be CD 17, if I went by O pains more like CD 16, and the last 3 cycles I have always O'ed 36 hours after first +OPK, so that also would be CD 17, but CM (which was really hard to read) seems more like CD 17. Looking back, if I was trying for an O+12, when should we have BD'ed?

I think the morning/early afternoon of CD17 would have been O+12, I'd say you OVed in the evening/overnight on CD16
if you get sharp O pain that's most likely the egg bursting out of the follicle so I'd go for 12hrs after that

It varies from month to month and between individuals unfortunately. Did you end up having a rise??

It is normal to O AFTER you have a pos OPK, on average 36 hours but anywhere from 8-48 hours after the pos OPK. The OPK is testing for the chemical that triggers the egg to be released, not the actual egg itself emerging.

    on your creamy CM!!

I believe you Oed "today" meaning the day you are referring to, CD 17.

You can have O pain at any point in your cycle and it's actually not at all uncommon to have worse pains before the egg is released that is actually relieved by the egg bursting from the follicle, so the pain on CD 16 unfortunately doesn't tell you much. You can even have pain on the side you DON'T ovulate from because both ovaries develop several eggs every month. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...tting-in-depth

I would have BDed the evening of CD 17 OR if you wanted to risk it (you'd be less likely to get pg), the morning of CD 18. Egg was prob. gone by then though.
