Wow, so many opposites! It makes me nervous to find out if our second sway worked or not.

We mentioned our name that we loved to a few people last pregnancy.
    And they savaged it !
So now we have no name at all, well Hubby does but I am not into them, and vice versa.
I find boys names boring and unforgiving, you can't really call a boy a cute name like Dolly, or flowery names (Lilly, Rose, Petal).
So it's hard to find something strong and unique, my advice is once you find it...zip it Cos people are judge

Ps : I would like to include myself in the above 'people', I didn't say it to her but my sister in law called her son Ivan...and I just thought it sounded tyrannical.
Fast forward 3 years and he is the most unlikeable child you'll ever meet.
I always wonder if the name influenced his personality 'Ivan the Terrible'

[QUOTE=Cnburke;890288]Hey ladies ! Updating to say that I am indeed having a girl . Sneek peak was right ! So you can mark me down as swayed boy - having girl .
Seems we have quite a few failed sways .
After all I did to sway , I'm starting to question swaying in general .. if we decide to have another baby after this we will do PGD . All depends on if we coan afford it or not at that time and if we want to have 4 children ! Lol

Cnburke it's like you are in my brain! I do question swaying now as well but I still don't have any true anger towards the process because it forced me into great shape. However I do get upset about the fact that I thought I had control over what's an uncontrollable situation. I almost wish I had read more failed sway posts with the hopes that people would've said--if you truly want a specific gender go PGD and do not risk swaying. I saw some like that but not enough. However I have only myself to blame.

If we ever decide a 4th...I'm only doing PGD. Apparently there's a doctor here who has success with spinning and I won't even risk that. But I would have to weigh if the expense of another child is worth it and more importantly if I want a 4th child. 3 sounds so good to me while 4 is undoubtedly overwhelming.

I deal with disappointment on a daily basis so right now I'm just hoping I'll get over it mostly but the time #3 is born. I doubt I'll get over it completely. And I hope you are doing ok. I know how crushing this can be.

Guys, I say it at least once a day that if you can do PGD and have a reasonable chance of success with it, you should do PGD.

I have never, ever, ever said anywhere even once that swaying is a guarantee of gender and I think I'm pretty vocal about it as a matter of fact.

As long as swaying comes in consistently better than 50-50 (which it has for both pink and blue, every year for 6 years, even though I include sways that were less than ideal)

My heartfelt goal is for everyone to get their desired gender. But if swaying could EVER be a guarantee the entire human race would have died out a long time ago, the first time there was an extended famine only girls would be born. It just isn't 100%, I've never promised that to anyone and never will.

Yes Atomic you are completely open with that. I don't blame the site or your guidance at all. I looked to posts and as we all know, anecdotal evidence is a recipe for failure. So I blame myself for not being more objective and analytical. But really what can I do at this point.

That's so mean that they savaged your baby name! Don't understand why people can't keep their mouths shut :/ I know lots of people that picked (IMO) silly names, but at least I was nice enough to pretend to like it haha!
"Ivan the terrible" sorry but that made me giggle. I guess it was destiny maybe lol.

My DS2 is named Gabriel, but he's definitly no angel hahaha

    Gabriel is beautiful name !

Ivan is hilarious, he is the tyrant - you know the naughty children that secretly make you laugh at how mischievous they are!

Atomic - I know you are very vocal about the fact that if you can do PGD do it.
We really thought (when I was in bits about my failed sway) that we would ONLY do PGD next time.
Now...I am actually not as invested in boy or girl, I think for me this failed sway has brought me peace, and turned me from a real control freak into a ....slightly less control freaky person.
If I had gotten my girl, I don't think I would be having such a relaxed and amazing pregnancy.
I would be planning the minutia of everything.
So I can honestly thank this site for that.

Thank you all. I think we will keep the name secret. Since I can't keep the pregnancy secret anymore, this will be something that hubby and I can keep just to ourselves. It is surprising though, we started to tell family yesterday and multiple people asked- "Do you have a name yet?". I am learning so much about what NOT to say the next time I find out a friend or family is pregnant.

I updated page 1 for all those who found out their genders. Sorry to those who are struggling with gender opposite what they swayed/hoped for. :-(

Kelbear- I didn't update yours because I am not sure if you consider it confirmed yet- I will wait for you to let us know if it is confirmed.

Thanks Girliecat, you probably can put it down as boy as there is no way that nub is anything but boy. I will have my anatomy scan in 5 weeks but really don't need that to confirm.
