Lets talk about this for a second...for those of you who lost it before labor do you know about how effaced you were when you lost it? How long before you went into labor?
With my first baby i lost it and was in labor that night..i had been dialated to 2 and 100% effaced for weeks though so in that case i think i lost it once i was dialated enough since you have to be decent in both i believe to lose the full plug
with my second i lost it and i was 75% effaced and dialated to a 3...later that week i went into labor at 4 cm dialated and 100% effaced..
with my 3rd i lost it the night before my c section so i will never know lol..
With this one i just lost it this morning!!! last time i had a cervix check with regular contractions she said my cervix was still very posterior but i was almost 2 CM dialated and while my cervix was extremely soft i was very thick (so probably not effaced at all) i am 36 weeks 1 day per doctors first scan (which a doctor did not a tech anyhow and in my experience alot of them are pretty bad at ultrasounds :X ) and her measurements as of last week was actually a full week ahead, so 36 weeks and 4 days when i was only supposedly 35 and 4...so that means its possible i am 37+1 today...i had my biggest baby, DD2 at 37 weeks and 5 days and she was 9 pounds 2 ounces...for anyone who has seen my recent ultrasound pictures this baby is pretty chunky already and the tech was sure she is at least 7 pounds..said she could be more than 7 but not likely less...
I also have a twisting sensation in my cervix as i walk around today and a mid/low back ache that will not go away no matter what i do... Just trying to get a general idea of how effaced i might be to go with the 2-3 CM i am dialated![]()

With my DS3, I lost my plug over two days before going into labor. The second day, I lost the biggest chunk and had lots of period-like cramps and light bleeding. I started having contractions the night of the second day of losing the plug. I went in that night around 1:00am, and I was 0 effaced and 0 cm! I walked around for an hour, felt nothing, was checked again and was 5cm and fully effaced!
From now on, once I start getting symptoms of early labor, I'm going to walk around in my basement! Walking helps me progress for some reason. Doing this at home will only maximize my time in my birthing center! Plus, we live 10 min from the hospital.

About 24 hours before DS was born for me. Had tightening pains so sat on my exercise ball and rotated, rotated, rotated... called the midwife and she said wait as long as possible- we arrived at 7am (7cm) and he popped out at 10! (A literal pop- the waters broke during advanced labour with an almighty 'pop'!!) [emoji85]

I ended up in labor and delivery last night but the contractions stopped.. I'm only 2 CM dialated and even though cervix is very soft they said I'm not effaced at all.. which was weird because to lose plug I should be at least a little thinned out? I don't really like the nurse that checked me I feel like she was full of shit
my cervix did move from posterior to anterior though.. maybe that's why I lost my plug? I am certain it was plug and not just discharge

That was some of it.
Here is what she looks like today..lots of period cramping but far apart and nothing timetable

Jealous of anyone that knows when they are in early labor. I'm obviously a big baby about feeling uncomfortable or pain in any degree so much so I jump the gun. I woke up at 330 am and I can't sleep having cold sweats and nausea but I can't go to labor and delivery again unless I am sure this is it but I'm just not sure

Those last few days/weeks are so hard, especially once you've already had one baby. I think broken is definately how I would have described that time. GL.
