Talking Nub shot...u/s booked for 14w2d...is it too late??

I've booked an u/s for "dating" purposes for this coming Friday(in 2 days!!!). I'm going to ask the tech for a profile shot but I'm unsure if this is what I want? I've read some stuff online that says after a certain time you want a potty shot...Anybody have any ideas? Thank you!!!!

14 weeks is supposed to be the cutoff but I think with the right view and a knowledgeable tech, you can tell if it is a boy at that point. Girls are very pointy between the legs- not rounded like a boy. 14 weeks can definitely be tricky though if you don't get the right angle or a clear shot. Good luck!

With my DS, at 13 weeks, you could see a penis and 2 balls-LOL- It was obvious he was a boy. I know after 14 weeks, the nub thing is not supposed to be valid.

Either the "nub" is going away at that point or a penis is forming from it. I think it depends how clear the screen is and if you get that great spread eagle shot. I was at a specialist for my scan so the quality was excellent. I think either way you can see it- profile or between the legs.

You can get a good degree of accuracy at this stage especially with a toilet/profile combo. At 14-15 weeks you might get a better view with a profile shot on some babies, while others may need to be scanned from a toilet shot angle.
