I'm having a paranoid evening.
I'm 21w5d with baby #4. I had a scan on Tuesday at 21w1d and we were told girl - after three boys, I couldn't even speak from the shock! I never thought it would happen! We had assumed that we were having another boy - had a name chosen for him and everything. But the ultrasound tech had a thorough look up and down through the legs, said "I see little girl parts", and I saw three lines in a row and nothing penisy (the boys were very obvious!).
After nearly seven years and our fourth child, I finally get my girl... but I'm petrified of the scan being wrong and having another boy. It would be worse to believe it was a girl for months and have a boy than to be told it's a boy from the get-go.
I know intellectually that if she saw girl parts, there's a very good chance that it's a girl, but I can't shake this fear of it being wrong and breaking my heart. I just can't quite believe that we could actually have a girl. If it were a random potty shot and not my own, I would have guessed girl, but because it's mine I can't stop doubting! I don't even have a photo of the potty shot to reassure myselfPlease tell me I'm not crazy!

You are not crazy. It is hard to believe and trust that something you have wanted so badly could be coming true. I had the DNA blood work say girl and still doubted. Then ultrasound confirm girl and still wondered. I have had three ultrasounds now all say girl so I am more confident but even still, every once in a while I think how terrible it would be if at delivery it really is a boy.
Try to schedule another ultrasound somewhere else with a different tech and don't tell them you know the gender so you don't sway their answer. I have gotten multiple ultrasounds free by contacting local colleges that have ultrasound programs. The students do the ultrasound, but their professor is right there next to them and walks them through the gender. I mean, if these professors who teach them how to identify gender have told me girl, I should feel confident.
Congratulations on your baby girl.Pregnant with baby GIRL #2, due August 2019

This is totally normal. Even after I had 2 scans and "knew" it was a girl I still was just like totally convinced that something would happen and she'd be taken away from me somehow.
Huge congrats!!!!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
