Help! TTC blue & thrush infection - what do I do?

    Hi all,

Am hoping to get some feedback on this – am currently TTC blue, 1st month of trying – and I started developing what I think is a yeast infection (thrush/candida) a couple of days ago, so I went to the pharmacy on Monday and got a Canesten kit (1 pessary plus cream) – am now on CD9 and it’s still not cleared: I usually O around CD 15-16 ish (rarely earlier often a bit after) so not sure if it will ok to BD/attempt because of the situation even if it clears - am lost as to what to do!

    What would your recommendations be?
Skip this month to ensure it doesn’t affect sway?
Continue and if it clears and is comfortable for me to BD, then have our attempts as planned (we haven’t BD’d since late last week so DH is getting keen lol)
Or alternatively – any solutions that are blue friendly to help clear this up asap?

Thanks so much in advance – really am not keen to throw out this month out the window

Our sway didn’t work for #3 & we had a little oops for #4 but we love them all to bits... not sure if we ever will but somehow hoping we might add blue to the crew, to complete our family, one day...

Fingers crossed for TTC #5 (again) for early 2024! luck has finally been on our side- expecting our 1st little boy October 2024!

    No real advice
But when I conceived my little boy I always had thrush.. I even had the thrush cream on repeat prescription I had it so much
    And I had a boy

Wouldn't want to say either way so maybe best to wait until it clears up completely?
Guess it depends if you mind going another month of the diets etc x

LMSM- I suppose if it were me I would give it a go this month as long as bd isn't super uncomfortable when you get to attempt times! My cousin has always gotten thrush more frequently then most, even when she was a teenager and she now has three boys. I have no idea if that's just coincidence or what but that would lead me to not skip this month if I was in your shoes! I'm sure atomic has much better advice then me though haha.

The unfortunate truth is that no one really knows how it sways or if it even does and it's something you really have to decide. I do know that many people get thrush (or as Americans say, yeast) quite often - myself def. included - and still get boys anyway. But I just don't KNOW and when I don't know, I have to throw it back to you to decide.

What you have to ask yourself is if you'll live 1000 lifetimes of regret if you try this month and get an opposite, but at the same time consider that for all we know this may be the perfectly perfect month for you to get a boy and future months something else will go wrong (or things that we may not even know about!)

Some speculation exists that more EWCM and/or higher pH sways blue and also = more boys. I do think the EWCM might have something to it but I've seen way too many people get raging cases of thrush while doing really low pH jellies and douches that the pH aspect is mighty hard for me to beleive any more.

    Thanks ladies!

@Atomic – thrush seems to have cleared now – so hopefully we are ok to go… started getting EWCM this afternoon on CD10 so have to get home and see what the opks say (hadn’t started yet as I never O before CD14 without meds so that’d be a surprise if I O before that) !
Depending on those, may decide to skip this month or not, since we have ionly Bd’d once on CD5 since after that I was uncomfortable – now if O is gerauing up for very soon, it might be wisest to just let go for this month and hope for the best next cycle…

    Thanks!!!
No he hasn't released on his own as far as am aware but we dtd last night...
1st opk was very faint (3h hold, around 8pm last night was the best I could do)... and now, 3h hold ish, 12.30pm...this opk is way darker, pretty much positive so it might be even darker tonight...It could be that we might have to BD again tonight

I definitely want you to BD again tonight!! Please don't rely on just one BD for blue!!! at least 2 and 3 may be even better!
