Hi Frilly Lady. My calories at present are set around 2000 - Yes on the high end but I work out a lot and am trying to lower them down slowly the closer I get to the 12 week mark for TTC. Dont want to lose too much weight too early on but just gradual.

Also - I am working more on ensuring I meet the LE guidelines majority of the time over a whole week, instead of just focusing on one day. I figured it all balances out in the end so if one day is high in protein but the rest really low - it all balances.

Frilly Lady my calories always end up between 1600 - 1800. I sometimes worry I'm eating to much & drinking to much coffee between meals. My weight is now about 108, I don't want to or couldn't loose any more so I have to eat plenty at meal times. Could you add in more cheese, full fat yogurt or some extra treats a few nights after dinner.
Do you do loads of exercise? I'm doing 5 days per week on stationary bike & trying to fit an hours walk in 1 day a week. I think the cardio makes you loose weight quickly.
It does play with your head when you have to keep adding in healthier foods as we tend to associate them with having boys! But this diet is getting good results so hopefully we are all very lucky.

Thanks ladies. My calories are usually between 1000 and 1500 but my fat is around 30g. I can't eat any sweet snacks like fruit or yogurt so I'm upping things like mayo and cheese, plus I eat a lot of veg and salad so my cals will probably be more if we were counting them. I'm exercising on the treadmill 6 days a week as I never exercised with my boys.

For lunch I'm having wholemeal salad sandwich with mayo. For dinner we're having homemade mushroom stroganoff with wholegrain rice.

My fat would be around 30-40g every day. If you want to stick to 2 meals a day you could add a cracker & peanut butter after lunch. I eat a lot of salad & fruit with my meals.
Frilly you seem to be sticking to the diet really well & with the amount of exercise you would be fine to up your fat intake with cheese & mayo.
My carbs seem to be quite high even though they are whole meal.

PCOS dieters, you need to be eating 50-60 g protein and 50-60 g fat (for same amount of calories) This is so you are in effect cutting carbs without having to think about it. If you eat the same # of cals, but a higher % protein and fat, you're eating fewer carbs by default. Additionally you're eating the better carbs. But it's a good idea to up the pro and fat as well and it is MANDATORY for anyone doing PCOS type diet for PCOS!

Hey ladies - I use MFP to track my food - I know it tracks everything, but at least I know how I am travelling. On average I am around 51g for protein and 48g for fats. I find yoghurt a good way to get more fats in and it feels you up

Also be aware that MFP will count the protein in fruit and veg, which we do NOT count, so you may need to eat even more to make up the difference.

It is REALLY important on PCOS diet that you eat more protein and fat because too many carbs are your enemy!

Atomic quick question, is it the overall amount of carbs that can be too many or is it the amount of carbs in relation to the calories you consume? If that makes sense.

Like someone who eats 1200 calories could have less carbs than someone eating 1800 but still too many if most of their calories come from carbs?

Both, because the protein can help to slow down the quick high rise that a lot of carbs (even good carbs) can cause when eaten on their own and you HAVE to be sure you're getting enough fat because sometimes with PCO your body will use up too much fat making testosterone and there will not be enough left over for making progesterone, and additionally the people on the alt-diet for egg quality need that extra fat too to make good eggs, estrogen, and progesterone with.

It's darn hard to do PCOS diet, getting 50 g pro and fat, while doing 1200 cals, and not wasting away. VERY few people should be that low in cals.

Thanks Atomic, don't think I realised how important actually reaching the limits was since I seemed to be under them and thought that would be ok as long as I wasn't over. Might need to think of some additions to my daily diet.
