It's too early for me to sign off on this. The nub can still rise and I've seen enough 13 weekers that I'd have swore were girls but ended up boys that I am not comfy guessing just yet.

Thanks Atomic! For replying, I literally can't thank you enough for helping me sway and get my baby girl!
I can't explain how happy she makes me! This is my sisters baby & it looks identical (the nub) absolutely identical to my little girls, I thought that the two lines almost guaranteed it being a girl?

But all babies look like that until the Y chromosome starts making testosterone. The gestation of the baby matters because if it is too early, a baby will simply look like a girl until that testosterone starts churning out. The testosterone turns what LOOKS like girly bits into boy-ly bits.

I honestly learn something new every time I visit this site!

I didn't think boys nubs ever had a double line, no matter the gestation...

It's 12 weeks 3 days if that makes much difference?

She is absolutely desperate for a girl. I almost promised her it was pink from her scan pic and clear nub.

All babies start off as girls. It is how genitals develop. ONLY once testosterone is being made, will "ovaries" drop down into the "labia" and turn into testicles, and the "clitoris" will turn into a penis. I know it's weird and unbelievable but that is how it works. So if you get a nub shot before this process is complete (and 12 weeks, 3 days is too early to say for sure and I've seen babies in the 13th week who I thought were girls, turn out to be boys) then a baby who is a boy will look like a girl. Exactly like a girl, with absolutely no difference visibly between them. This is why people getting nub shots at 10 and 11 weeks are very often told girl but the baby turns out to be a boy. It's just too early.

If you can, I'd walk that guarantee back a little. It's clearly better than going into an ultrasound and seeing a big ding-a-ing like some of us have but it is WAY too risky for her to get her hopes way up at this stage of gestation.
