Thread: Food Combining

    Food Combining

    Hello,

i was wondering how the food combining works? are we to not eat carbs (breads rice) with proteins or fats? So basically just veggies and breads? and if we are to eat proteins or fats they should only be coupled with veggies?

For example a chicken salad is protein and veg so this is fine as one meal
and another meal could be Rice and veggies with sprinkle of cheese?

Im seeing Vegan is a good option here. As long as I don't overdo my calories and ill have to sub quinoa with rice and cut back on nuts seeds and avocados.

What are your thoughts on toast with tomato mayo cheese and spinach? too healthy and too fatty?

I think my plan will be to be mostly vegan and use cheese and chicken for sprinkling flavour sometimes. Instead of eating a while chicken breast (which i never eat on its own anyways)

I am just worried about my blood sugar which is why I'm asking about food combining
If I eat late at night and a large meal I am starving in the morning. I think i have to be careful with my bood sugar. and that I am sensitive.

With my last sway (failed) I wold eat only 1500 calories but I stretched it out to so much food that it was like i was having a feast of rice, salad, soups, pizza etc all in one meal.
this time I want to eat smarter instead of more. So if a chicken breast will make me feel satisfied i will add it tom salad instead of find 3 ways to stretch out the protein in the breast.

Also, is it too early for me to look into getting a personalized plan? I want to start my sway next March.

Nope, not too early for a personalized plan. I have people buy them a year in advance all the time.

Since you've had the one failed sway I would have you go onto the PCOS-type diet. This is especially true since you do have the weight to spare (the downside is it can make your weight fly off) http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...rt-3-pcos.html

I think the atomic fertility diet will be best for now. I think that if you MUST diet now, start off wiht AFD in the variation for pink swayers who will go HT (this is more food than the other) and then we can cut back over time.

I think it's pretty important, given the history of the failed sway, that you NOT go vegan or even vegetarian for now. Many times people who have sway opposites have some PCO-tendencies and the carbiness of the standard LE Diet OR a vegetarian/vegan diet may end up undermining your sway.

So should i get a PCOS test from my doctor? I guess my symptoms are that i am having a tough time losing this pregnancy weight, i am very fertile tho, i know i have issues with blood sugar but nothing diagnosed and my periods after DS1 were all over the place and i couldn't figure out when i was ovulating. but we did get pregnant fast. I have bad acne but i think its because of my rosachea and i am always fatigued but who isn't? Not sure how to measure tiredness especially with a 3 month old.

And Sorry what does HT (High Tech) mean?

So you are basically saying I should eat AFD until I am ready to actually sway and when I do it should be the PCOS version of the LE diet. And a personalized plan will include all of these changes?

No, you don't need testing. I have EVERYONE who had a failed sway do PCO-diet and you additionally have the markers to me that indicates you need it.

3 months old?? AA didn't realize that. PLEASE do not start a strict sway diet until your baby is 6 months. (the PCO-LE Diet I am referring you to is perfectly fine to do though) Not open for a debate. You need to recover right now. It is fine to eat more healthy and lose some weight but now is NOT the time to cut way back on protein and nutrients.

    Are you breastfeeding?

High tech is those who want to do IVF. I have a version of the LE Diet for people who may go IVF but haven't decided yet, and may still sway in the future. This is a good option for you since it's more food, more nutrition, more protein, etc but is making changes in a more pink-friendly direction.

OKay so let me see if I understand this exactly then haha

For now i will be on the HT AFD until I am actually ready to sway next year. At that point I will go on the POC LE diet.
The idea is that the HT is good to get me into the groove for when we actually start the sway? i am thankful for the direction as I don't know what i should be doing now. And i don't want to be going on a paleo diet to completely alter it in a year.

Hi nessa I am 6 months pp but will ttc when my lo is 9 months old in September this year. I started by going vegetarian when bub was around 2-3 months then cut out Bfast, added coffee and just now at 6 months starting to stop snacking and stick to 3 meals per day and a wine at night. I will, over the next month or so also start the exercise and staying under 1800 cals.
So I've really eased into the sway over many months as I've had the time to do so and it has made it much easier and has not affected my milk supply whatsoever. I ordered my personalised plan about 2 months ago it has made me very relaxed after my last sway failed. I wanted it sooner than later so I could get all the swaycessing out the way early on and then by the time ttc finally came along everything would be just second nature hopefully! I also found xxforhubbys second ( and successful) sway really inspirational after an opposite.
Good luck and I hope you get your sweet little girl! Xx

    Are you breastfeeding, though?

Yes that's the general idea but I didn't realize you were only 3 months postpartum. I really want you to be eating good and letting your body recover now (don't push too hard on diet!) because it's not going to do you any good for your sway at this point anyway and I worry you'll undermine yourself in the long term if you cut back too far now. Not only will it make you take longer to recover from the birth, but it also may mean you end up getting used to the diet in the long term (a year is a long time!) OR that you can cut back too far and have nowhere to cut back TO in the future for your sway. So we need to be careful on a number of different levels that what you're doing now is a very gentle diet aimed primarily at taking some weight off and correcting PCO-tendencies without going, as my husband likes to say "b@lls to the wall" with diet. It's not necessary and may end up backfiring on ya.

That is what I do normally have folks do but the catch is that people who have PCOS tendencies (and everything she's posted makes me think this is definitely possible) can't go fully veg because they'll end up having too many carbs and raising blood sugar, testosterone, etc. I just think, Nessa, you need some meat for now for several reasons and I do NOT want you to go vegetarian or vegan at this stage. We may rethink this over time or we may not.

No, that is not something you need to worry about. Just stick to limits of LE Diet. Do NOT worry about food combinations. Blue swayers have to have protein and carbs at every meal and snack. This does not then mean that pink swayers can't have them together. In fact you will have to in order to get your cals, fat, and protein in for the day while still eating 2-3 meals.
