    Congrats dreamsister!

Great advice cosmosis Pumping really isn't a good indicator of supply. Also it is normal not to have much come out for the first 3-5 days, babies have tiny pea sized stomachs and are expected to lose some weight initially.

Also you can successfully breastfeed with PCOS. I'm exclusively breastfeeding my 3rd baby so I'm proof Good luck, it is hard at the start but it really does get easier in time!

AFM- my milk has definitely increased. Last week we did the test where they weigh baby, then I breast feed for 20 min, then they weigh baby again and the difference was only about 6ml (meaning that is what she drank). Did it again today and she gained 37ml. Still not enough to satisfy her and have to supplement with formula, but getting better. I think if we formula/bottle fed only this would be a lot less stress but I am committed to keep trying the boob.

Sounds like things are improving so glad to hear! Just keep in mind that breastmilk is made as much as it is being demanded. So if you supplement, you will make less milk and it is a tough cycle to break. I would suggest that you keep stimulating your breasts and pumping every time she supplements. Also, the baby will prefer the bottle anyday because it is much easier to suck milk out than it is to get it out of the breast, so if she gets fussy and frustrated at the breast, this will be a big reason why. Just so you know and you don't feel like there's something wrong with your body!

Here's a video that shows the muscles used by the baby to latch on to the breast (forward to 50 seconds): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zln0LTkejIs I find that it is very helpful to see things in action. Hope it helps somehow!

Also, here's some helpful info on pumping, it may help with increasing output What to Expect When Pumping • KellyMom.com

Thank you Cosmosis. I should clarify that we don't supplement with a bottle. She has never had a bottle. We use a little tube system that goes next to my nipple so she thinks she is drinking from boob but formula is coming from a container nearby via her sucking. And I only do that after she has had 20 minutes straight breast without tube so she is stimulating on her own. When I pump after she feeds I get only drops. If I pump before she feeds I get about an ounce.
