Kitty bear: The breast is best campaign the NHS have going is great, but also really isolating when things don't go to plan.
We ended up having an all breast ffeeding day yesterday, as he was so settled and seemed so interested in justvthe boob.
Sadly he ended up having another red nappy.
The GP was quite annoyed at me, you could tell.
I've learnt my lesson though. And when I expressed, you wouldn't believe how much came out. Proving that he really isn't drinking it.
xx : Thank you. We think he is gorgeous too. He looks exactly like my husband. Which is bringing him no end of joy.
My husband is actually adopted and there are no baby photos of him at all.
The only one is when he is already walking.
So it's amazing to see what he would have looked like!
Babs: it's so reassuring hearing that other people had issues too.
I am still determined to give him expressed, and have about two days worth in the fridge right now.
But never again will I think badly of formula, it's the difference between home and hospital for some babies.
girlie: you sound like you are already totally comfortable in your role. And I am so jealous Hazel is sleeping long stretches. Please send me some of that magic Mama dust lol.
If the breastfeeding is the only thing we have to worry about then we're lucky. Although my little man is getting super stressed out after feeds, they think he may have silent reflux. But I'm not too sure. I looked up the symptoms and he only has a few of them, so don't want him getting labelled so quickly.
They have given him gaviscon(Zantac) which he had twondoses of And slept two four hour stretches. But now he's constipated
shann: thank you. Hugs! It is hard not to beat ourselves up when we are taught how perfect and natural breastfeeding is.
My Mum who breastfed all of us for a min of 6 months, said "in the olden days, everyone breast fed. Babies died, because mothers milk didn't come in, or she couldn't feed. It's not for everyone"
That was after LLL basically told me that everyone can breastfeed, which set me off crying.
Never thought this would be such a sensitive subject for me.

Sparkles have they considered a dairy intolerance/allergy? Blood in stool can come from that. And it could also present with the early reflux symptoms. Both of my sons had varying degrees of it so I'm well versed in the dairy issue but that is what made me have to supplement with DS2. He would drink my milk but not enough because it hurt. Even now at age 2 he can't have milk or cheese.

Oh love, I know that so well; they do have the best intentions when it comes to supporting BF mums on the NHS but they can also ostracise those who cannot or do not want to BF... I think that BF mum's are awesome, because I was so v crap at it
but at the same time, a happy and satisfied baby and a happy mum is more important to me than if the milk baby was fed with came out of a boob or a bottle or a tin. The difference for me this time is that I have already done this before so I know my limitations... and I can choose to ignore the BS if I do choose
and also don't be surprised that every time you see your MW or GP or health visitor they ask if you are still BF baby - just answer honestly (yes/ some/ no), smile, and think nothing else of it - I'm sure it's just to do with some government target they have anyway and they couldn't give a fig how your baby is fed personally
Just to reassure you, my biggest boy had the red crystals in his nappy too - and he is 100% perfect, even if I do say so myself!
Best of luck to you on whatever feeding path you find yourself on xx

Can't believe my baby girl is already 18 days old! I had been waking her in the night to feed her, like doctor asked, but her weight is good now so we are letting her sleep and she has consistently slept for 7+ hours the last few nights. I still have to get up at night to pump milk but very happy baby girl is such a good sleeper. In this pic she wouldn't even wake up after I opened her swaddle blanket.
My milk is doing better but it is hard work. I pump every few hours just to keep up and to have enough for her for her next feeding. I am not able to save anything because she always needs it within a day. I have only had to give about 4-5 ounces total of formula in the last 2-3 days so I am happy that has been reduced.
Who is next to have their baby? A lot of the July moms haven't been active on the forum so I am not sure who is still with us.

Aww she's adorable GirlieCat. I wish my little girl was a good sleeper lol. She's such a little piggy during the day, plus I have always had a massive over supply of milk so she gets so gassy from all the foremilk that she squirms and grunts and whinges all night keeping me awake. Can't believe she's 4 weeks already! And she started smiling at me yesterday!!! <3

I'm due in 3 weeks or less. They won't let me go past 40 weeks due to GD (the other GD) so I'm starting the eviction process this week. I literally have nothing ready for baby to come so it's ok if he waits another week. I told my husband he has to get everything out of storage today but neither of us is really motivated. It's so funny how different the 3rd is. And it's not his fault. We are excited to meet him we just don't have crazy motivation for any of it because the other two take up our focus right now.
I'm physically really tired but otherwise feel ok. I'm just ready to be done.2013 &

Nice to hear your updated GirlieC & Mummyof4b.
Happy to hear everything is going well.
My girl is 3 weeks today. She can sleep five hours in a row mostly during day-time. During night I feed her every 3-4 hour. I have lots of milk and she eats well and is so nice and easy. We haven't really heard her crying. I still can't believe she is mine. The boys adore her and so does her father. We haven't found her name yet. Here is s pic.

I'm still here, but not due for 6.5 more weeks. Crazy, crazy fatigued. I just want this pregnancy over already. I know I shouldn't wish it away, it's my last, but it's taking everything I have. Never felt like this with the boys.
