Sky will they recheck the glucose test again with a 3 hour? Maybe it was just a bad day for you.
I don't personally know the couple but they're somewhat distant family that just by chance lives in the same town as me so the girls would be in the same school. I have seriously not heard of anyone naming their baby Mila around this area. The mom works for a friend of ours lol hubbys response "well I guess we'll just have to tell Matt to relocate her" [emoji23] I haven't told to many our name but the great grandma and uncle to the mom was just at our family's house and funeral they easily could have heard me throwing the name about but surely the couple would have already had the name picked out before birth. It's just frustrating and with my ball of emotions I'm automatically upset. Dh assures me our Mila will be way cooler lol

Kat-yay for telling co-workers tomorrow!! Fun to spill the beans!! Let us know how it goes [emoji4]
Ash-what?! So the great grandma & uncle were just at your family's house...that's a little suspicious!!! If they heard you talking about it & they already knew what the parents were naming the baby, wouldn't they have mentioned it & the coincidence? Could be sheer coincidence or maybe they didn't have a name yet! It would make me want to go stalk their Facebook page to see if anything about the name was mentioned before [emoji12]Grrrrr, this type of thing makes me fume!!!

are you set on the name Mila ash? im sorry that they have used it
but it could well be that they had the name already and just didnt announce it even to family till the birth, with actress Mila Kunis being as famous as she is i think most people are aware of the name even if they arent using it, if that makes sense?
i wouldnt let this stop you anyway, here in the UK we went through what was dubbed "Amelia madness" during roughly 2012-2015 EVERYONE was calling their girls Amelia, i knew 12 people who were pregnant with girls in 2013 all due within 3 months of one another, of the 12 girls 10 were called Amelia!! and 9 of the 10 were Amelia Rose!! the other 1 being Amelia Jane, they all live in the same part of the country too, it was the same all over the UK though, and no-one argued over having girls with the same name (and middle name in this case!!) if you want the name Mila then use it
Lola so exciting for you
im sorry to everyone who is feeling so sicki was the worst with my first baby, it was 24/7 unrelenting and lasted 22 weeks, i feel your pain it really is debilitating
fingers crossed you can all get to the end of it soon

Huge hugs Sky! How did they base your GD diagnosis? Did you fail the 1 hour and the 3 hour test? If not, one off high isn't enough for a GD diagnosis. I had late onset GD with my DS2, but they took if off since my numbers when monitoring were never high, and he didn't have any signs of glucose issues when he was born. I've never had any issues in my subsequent pregnancies.
PM me and I can give you loads of advice and info! Rest assured you need to eat regularly, once you feel well, you CAN snack in addition to having 3 meals, and you CAN have carbs still including sweets/fruit! You just need to rearrange how/when you eat carbs for the day and save sweets for the end of the day when your pancreas is producing insulin instead of glucagon from your liver in the mornings. Don't worry- this will all make more sense after you PM me [emoji6]! Honestly, this is a better way of eating for EVERYONE because all of our bodies perform better when we slowly add more carbs to our meals as the day progresses.

Thankyou xx. Going to pm u after this. They did some test first and that was high so the OB asked me to go for 2 hour glucose tolerance test. One of the value is high by 3 points based on which she diagnosed Gd. I am going to see the nutritionist this week for a 2 hour class. I am sure they will give me the machine to monitor 4 times a day which I am now fine with because it will be better knowing what my body can and can't tolerate. The only struggle is eating in the morning. I just can't do it. I m forcing food down my stomach in the morning after finding out and I literally cry and miss my mom. It's hard as it is without any family around and now this. I am
a very strong person and a control freak so I m just so mad to have failed. Sorry about the rant. I m so thankful to be able to come here and speak my mind. Or else I would go nuts. Thankyou all if I don't say it enough.

Sky - sorry to hear you did not pass. I just wanted to tell you that having GD has NOTHING to do with how healthy you are or what you are eating per say. It is just how your body is tolerating pregnancy. It sounds like you should be able to keep everything under control with diet. I found that having high protein (meats and cheeses) in the morning was what helped my MS the most in various pregnancies, but if you can't eat first thing in the morning, wait a little bit. Forcing it could backfire an have you throwing up all morning. ((HUGS))
kat and dancing - sorry you are still not feeling well. I am still on Unisom every evening. I have been taking a full dose the past few weeks and stopped dry heaving in the morning, so I thought I might be getting better (I am 23 weeks after all). Last night I took a half dose and woke up sick as could be. UGH. Guess I am back on a full dose for a while.
kat - GL telling your boss. It will feel better once you do. ((HUGS))
Ash - that is crazy your name was used, but since it is not a close relative, I would def use it anyway!I have a girl name picked and I don't care who uses it, I will have my name if by some miracle I have a girl ever. I am just dying for your scan! 3 more days!!!
Lola and Pbn3 (and everyone else) - thanks for the advise on the 6yo. I talked to my mom last night and she said my brother acted out at the same age when she was pregnant with me. He was 6. And even though he had been through it before, it was still a major change and he was "loosing his spot with Mom". So I spent some extra time with him and had him on my lap (yes, that was tough) and talked to him about being a big brother and how much I still love him and how special he is to me. We also talked to him about how to handle his anger, letting him know it was ok to get angry and that it is ok to leave the area for a few minutes to calm down. He was in Kindergarten last year, so he is starting 1st grade in August and it will be a HUGE change for him. He will not be going to daycare anymore. So I am sure that is part of it all. We also just moved to a new house a month ago. So much change for such a little person. We will see if today is a better day for him.me (42 ) DH (43)

Shannshaff- Thankyou! I read a lot and found out that it has something to do with the placenta. I ate a multigrain toast today in the morning with some nuts and cup of tea and it felt ok. I just hope I could keep this up. Thankyou for the advise. I really appreciate it. Will try to include more meat.
My dd will be going to 1st grade too. This is a tricky age and time for them. I must say you handled it beautifully. I learn something new here everyday.
