We have a few people that we could name a girl after... From DH's side, he has Samantha and has been stuck on it since we were looking for DD1's name. He brought it up again after DD2 and I shut it down. It reminds me of Samantha from Sex in the City, so it's hard for me to name a DD after that. However, he has someone very special to him that he would like to have another DD named after, and I would somehow need to integrate that into a name (so probably would be a middle name). It also means "G-d heard", and I guess in my case after swaying for a DD, maybe it would be appropriate? I also love Alexandra, Ellie, Alexis, and some other names, but they're mostly of little girls that I know and love so we probably can't use them.
For boys, no clue...we've never even talked about it so no idea where to start. Did you guys have intuitions about your gender with any pregnancies? I don't know if I'm feeling a boy vibe because it truly is just that, or if I want a girl so badly and this is my first time "swaying", so my mind is mentally preparing me for an opposite just in case?

Max- That's great! They are more than doubling- they are at a 34hr doubling time, which is less that 48hrs! Yes they may have been low at first, but how many people go in for betas at 11-13dpo? That early the numbers WILL be low! What matters is the doubling time as time goes on. Yours is around 34hr at 17-19dpo, which is less than 48hrs! That's excellent! This means your betas will be nice and high soon! Cue the morning sickness! It may come on around 5-6weeks!
As far as being a boy- too early tell. Don't let betas fool you- at 21dpo mine were 25,300something with my DS3! At 21dpo with my DS2 they were a mere 120!
What all of this tells us is you have a healthy, sticky bean growing!!

Thanks for sharing that, it's so reassuring to hear!!! I don't know why she couldn't have said that on the phone lol...
It's also interesting about the hcg numbers. I googled it and somehow it brought up an article that low hcg = boy, high hcg = girl. Obviously there's going to be people on both sides, but my goodness it's such an overload of info. I had to go in for bloodwork with DD1 because my progesterone was low, I didn't even realize that they ran two betas until I went back this morning into her pregnancy binder and saw that!
Oh, and xx...this morning I almost threw up when I was brushing my teeth. And yesterday a piece of my hair got blown into my mouth from wind and it caused me to dry heave. Perfect....morning sickness is around the corner. I already don't have a huge appetite to begin with, so it's not going to be fun!

Max I always felt like if I had another it'd be a girl and that was one of my persuasion tactics to try n get dh to go for another. But once pregnant I lost all confidence lol.

Max, when I was pregnant with my daughter, I was SURE it was a boy. Never second guessed it, never thought twice about it. I even bought boy clothes. I did the Chinese gender calendar and when it said girl I immediately thought that it was obviously wrong. When we were at the ultrasound and the tech said girl, I think my jaw was on the floor!! I really didn't mind one way or another whether it was a boy or a girl going into it, so I was thrilled to have a girl too. Just wanted to share that intuition isn't always right!
My husband, on the other hand, said that it was a girl the whole time! He has this weird ability to predict genders. He's only been wrong once out of all of the pregnancies of people that we have known!

On the topic of names, have you guys heard of Nymbler? It's a website where you can enter names you like (or sibling names) and it will suggest other names that are a similar style. It may spark some ideas!

It all really is interesting, Max! I have boy vibes right now too, but I don't trust myself after the last pregnancy! Haha. Did you have an intuition with your girls?

Max - I thought my last 2 girls were boys and like you, I'm not sure if it's bc I wanted girls or I just felt boy. When I told my family my first was a girl they thought I was kidding like wouldn't believe me that's how much everyone thought I was having a boy. I think intuition is 50/50 just like wives tales!
