daily, 7 days in a row, and on two of those days we did it twice. My pH must have been sky high as I had a big O after each attempt too!

For DS #1 it was frequent BD, at least one time per day from the end of AF to O, probably 2x per day in the last day or two prior to ovulation. For DS#2 we weren't really trying and we were camping so did not bd that much. I think 1x the night before O (within the same 24 hours - felt O pain in the morning).

Do you think once every 24 hrs lowers sperm count or do you think it improves it? I have recently heard and read that every 24 hrs is better for sperm count/quality? We are waiting to O which would happen in 5-10ish days so have started getting DH to release every 24 hrs, today is the 3rd day and we noticed the amount of liquid he expelled sorry TMI lol, was not very much as he has when we doesn't dtd for a few days? Do you think this matters?
Atomic, what about you would love your expertise opinion
We were going to try getting dh to release every 24 hrs and than few days before O get him to hold it for a few days till ovulation and then go.

My DS was conceived by BD many days in a row (probably 5 or 6). I really don't remember exactly, but I know I did opks, and we DTD before they turned positive as well as after, so we DTD all the way through O.

I wonder if I should have done that this time. We chose to DTD 3 times this time, so I don't know. I figured DH is older now, his sperm count might not be as good as it was, he drinks/smokes special cigarettes, so I thought we needed to build up a little between tries.

With my DS I can't really remember how often we done it leading up to conception but I am sure we conceived the night we done it 4-5 times in one night.

DS 1: Every single day...or practically close to it. We were a little excited.
DS 2: 3 days in a row. I wasn't keeping track but ovulation happened shortly after.
DS 3: It was literally 5.5 days before ovulation. Before then, we'd been doing it about every 3-4 days.

    Hope this helps!

I don't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure I made sure we DTD every other day beginning on cd9 or 10 until just past cd14 when I knew I usually ovulated (I didn't track my cycles because I knew I had O pain around cd14). DH probably released himself most other days because apparently that's what he's always done!

I've also read that releasing every day is good for sperm quality (which is what we all want for a quick and healthy BFP!) but I think what you need to do for higher/lower sperm count is individual to us all. Because my DH was a frequent releaser anyway we had him release twice a day leading up to our attempt and 3 times within 24 hours before our attempt but others have had to drop the prolonged frequent release/BD (MORE than 7 days being prolonged in my mind) just to get pregnant so it was obviously hindering their chances of getting pregnant. I think if I were ttc a boy I would be happier with DTD every other day. The studies I've read which look at the effect on sperm count of very frequent release say that it took a long time for sperm count to return to previous levels. The amount of semen isn't a good indication of higher or lower sperm count but more semen would make your pH higher so I'd probably take that in to account to if ttc a boy.
