So I know pH has been thoroughly debunked, but I'm curious on insight into the male element.
I know male pH matters, since too alkaline can actually indicate infection and too acidic impedes conception. But when DH's pH came back at 8, I freaked out -- that's basic!
Until I read the ref ranges and did some research and saw that 8 is the max limit for semen pH! So when everyone over on IG or even here in the past were testing DH's pH, how were they getting numbers practically near 10? How is that successfully getting pregnancies when everything I'm reading says the man's pH shouldn't be that high for conception?

8 is great!
A-ok.
To answer your question - it's not.
If you take a drop of food coloring and drop it in water you see how it doesn't disperse immediately. There's part that is darker and then parts of it aren't completely colored yet. It works like that. And additionally semen and mucus are not super water soluble - it's not like dropping food coloring into water, more like droping them into egg white or partly set up jello. They test their pH but even if they mix it up, there's sperm in there in pockets that are safe and eventually the sperm will exit into the CM (again, even with a baking soda finger, there are pockets of CM that will be safer and that is how the sperm get through and survive.!!! I don't think it matters, period -- pH doesn't actually sway, and healthy male pH is actually a very limited range, so it's not quite the same as female pH either. The only issue is if it's too out of the range, it can show infection
