We may not have another but it's nice to know hubby isn't totally against the idea
And I'm beginning to think I'll be one of those women that never feel "done"... very strange to me considering I never particularly wanted kids before we decided to go ahead and have one lol.

I haven’t been on in forever but just wanted to pop back in and see how everyone is doing. DS#3 is not the easy baby I hoped and prayed for. I thought that if I were to have three boys one of them could st least be that calm happy go lucky go. So far we have dairy and soy intolerances and a tongue tie (just like his older brothers). He hates sleep and has a cry that could wake the neighbors. But despite all of this and the constant struggle I have with my GD (it’s still there and pretty strong), I still love him unconditionally and can’t believe that my husband and I have created this perfect little specimen (perfect being a highly subjective word ).

Hi BabsNMK, great to hear from you. Sorry you're having issues with your little man. I feel for you. All my 4 boys weren't easy at all and neither is my little miss. She is still having tummy issues and barely sleeps. I'm going to start an elimination diet this week as we suspect she's intolerant to cows milk protein :/

Is he your last baby or do you think you'll sway again one day?

Hi Mummy. I’m trying to convince my husband to do PGD for one more. I certainly will never risk swaying again as I don’t think I could handle that disappointment again. But my husband really feels done. I may be able to convince him but I’m also not sure I want 4 children. Our house would feel pretty tight and to have to go through the infant stage of no sleep and food intolerances all over (I’m sure #4 would have food issues too) I don’t know if I could handle it. But I’ll be looking more into PGD over the next year just in case.

You are all so tough. My 4.5 month baby is great but I am seriously considering stopping at one child.

I can definitely see the advantages of having just the one child Some friends of ours stopped after their daughter and are very happy with their decision. I must just be insane from sleep deprivation to be considering #6 haha.

Haha Amelia I totally understand. We always said at least two kids but I am not very happy with even one so I am not sure what we will do.

Any advice on how to get baby to sleep without needing to be rocked or swinged? Baby takes all her day naps in the swing. It is the only way sh will fall asleep and stay asleep. We have managed a few naps in the crib but she always wakes up within 20 minutes versus her normal 2 hour swing naps.

Girlie how old is she now? I’m a sleep consultant so maybe I can offer some tips.

As for having just one? Many of my friends have stopped after one and I do see the benefit there. You can still have a great relationship with your spouse, fully devote your attention to that baby, and hey it’s muxh less expensive. I just have always loved babies/children. I work with them, My mom is a child psychologist, it’s in my nature I think. But I also have a lot of help. I couldn’t do this without my mom and sister close by. And honestly some days I do think I’m crazy. I’m beyond exhausted and I rarely have time to myself anymore let alone time to be a fun parent. So maybe it was selfish of me to have more children.

Babs, baby is 4 months 2 weeks. She sleeps great at night in her bedside sleeper but daytime naps are in her swing. Maybe I am the issue, not baby.

Ha well it is always the parents fault. Do you swaddle her for naps as well? If not try that. But then my best piece of advice at this age is to do just one nap in the crib. Usually the first of the day. If it’s a terrible nap that’s ok since you can make up for it with swing naps for the other ones. Then a week or two later add a second crib nap etc. Just be consistent. It takes time but once she’s comfortable doing it, it’ll get easier. Also use white noise and blackout shades if possible.
