    Fertility

I did not get pregnant this cycle, our first after my copper IUD was removed. I'm okay with it, but now I'm worried that it's going to take us longer since I'm 29 and DH is 33, rather than our mid 20s with our first two. I know many on here will think I'm being silly because I'm not close to 35, but can anyone give me their experiences with getting pregnant in their late 20s/early 30s? Did it seem to take any longer than when you were younger?

Fertility doesn't change much in your late 20s. You still have an excellent chance at conceiving and even women in their 30s still have a good chance. I got pregnant with DS3 at 29 after seven months of TTC but I'd conceived three other times during those months so obviously my ability to conceive was not impaired. To compare, I got pregnant with my first son at 24 after nearly a year of TTC so age didn't matter. I've seen so many women here easily conceive even in their mid to late 30s. Not getting pregnant the first month doesn't mean anything is wrong. It can take healthy couples several months to conceive and that's normal. You just had your IUD removed so that can make cycles a little wonky and it may take your body a month or two to adjust...or not, it just depends! Good luck!

I personally believe it is the effects of the IUD that is causing you to take longer to conceive. Once your body’s hormones balance out and stabilize, you’ll get your BFP. The problem is, no one can tell you how long that can take. I would stick to just what is getting good results for swaying purposes. If you’re doing jump and dump, using excess lubes other than for making BDing comfy, antihistamines, or any other supplements besides Folic Acid/Folate, it’s time to stop those since it cuts the odds of conception. If any of that doesn’t apply to you, then hang in there! It will happen for you! Remember that it can take up to 3-6mo to get pregnant. I know it’s hard when it’s happened quickly before, but I know it will again!

    🤞🏻for you!

I'm just so surprised that a nonhormal IUD would mess with my cycle, but it's the only thing I can think of that's changed recently. Thank you XX

Greydore - I conceived my sons at 28 and 30 (was almost 31) and got pregnant with both of them on the first try. You could definitely be very fertile still.

One month is nothing. Perfectly fertile, healthy couples take 3-6 months on average. Even up to a year isn't even a sign of reduced fertility -- as I've learned, it's chance. Fertile Myrtle is really just Lucky (or unlucky) Lucy.

thanks ladies for the great answers, couldn't have said it better myself

FWIW I got my first two boys at 21 and 25 in one and 2 months, and then my 3rd and 4th boys at 36 and 39...in 2 and 1 month. So no difference.
