I thought they only did the nuchal fold at 11-13ish weeks? That’s what my OB has always told me for both pregnancies. Is it possible at 20 weeks it’s an inaccuracy?
Regardless big hugs and try not to stress until you have more definite answers (I know easier said than done!). Sending prayers and positive vibes for you and sweet baby Oliver. [emoji170]

Netti – congrats on your healthy baby – I’m sorry you didn’t hear girl – my heart goes out to you, I know you have so much on your plate already that you can’t really linger on this, but I do hope time will allow you to heal from this GD – he will be the cutest little man if your eldest boys are anything to go by, because they are just beyond handsome
TTC – I can’t see why they are worrying you – the nuchal fold thickness isn’t an accurate soft marker at 20 weeks normally – was it reeeeeally thick for them to be so concerned that they felt the need to send you for a f/u?
I hope all turns out ok for your baby boy
Pinkhope- this is my 3rd, and my belly started to grow very early on – maybe 6 weekish? but it has had a growth spurt in the last 3 weeks or so (am now 21 weeks). All my girls were active as, this one is actually the most discreet – or it could just be that with work and two young kids, I have even less time to focus on her movements? I read online that there are soft, mild and high markers and the nuchal fold is a high marker and puts my baby at x4 greater risk of DS if three measurement is higher that 6mm.. Today I had my regular pregnancy check up and I asked what the specific measurement was and she told me his was 5.5 and they consider anything over 5 to be a need for concern, especially because his head is measuring "too big" (But all my kids habe big heads, it's runs in my dh's family). She did say that test is usually done much earlier and is not as accurate after 14 weeks, but since I declined the testing I was offered at 12, they added it to my anatomy scan. She says the level 2 ultrasound can detect more and we'll see if there are any more markers present.

Hey ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining! First of all, I want to congratulate all the ladies and wish you all a happy and healthy Nine months ❤️
My EDD is 4th May, I was active during the August 2WW, I'm currently 15 weeks and 4 days (however bubs is measuring 16 weeks and 4 days).
Yesterday I had a gender scan, I was 15 weeks and 3 days, tech said she is 100% sure it's a boy! I haven't really seen boy parts during a scan I was hoping the boy mothers could help me with this.

That’s kind of weird they added it to your 20w scan when you declined it in the first place, especially if it’s not as accurate after 14w. I’m obviously no doctor, but I would definitely keep all that in mind going for your L2 testing. I could see this being a case where you’re told there’s something wrong and deliver a perfectly healthy little boy! Hang in there!

It's all very confusing to me because not only are informative websites vs personal expierences that I've read online very contradicting, but my ob and the doctor who examined my 20 week scan have different opinions as well. After reading everything that I've read, I don't understand why the test was done at a time when it is likely to be inaccurate, and his reading doesn't really sound like its "too high" but perhaps just on the higher end.. I just can't believe that they would tell me he's high risk for DS and send me to a specialist for no reason, so the worry and fear is definitely there full force.

TTC - that’s so frustrating, and I’m sure overwhelming, that there’s no clear answer. When is your appointment? Hoping that maybe they’re just being on the cautious side and wanting to double check.
Afya1 - we won’t find out until I deliver! [emoji6] We’re team green, but my anatomy scan is December 11 so I will try to catch a peek!DS1 5/2016

TTC- I hope all goes well for you, and it's just extra precautions they are taking.
Taytum- wow your extra patient, I don't think I could ever manage team green, but I know surprises are always lovely!
