I wouldn't worry about it, Inglewood - I've read in LOTS of places that there's no real correlation between the side you O and the gender of the baby. I'm just grasping at straws since I'm pretty convinced I'm having a boy

I'm feeling really crampy today and I'm not sure whether or not I should be worried. It fluctuates between af-like cramps in my lower abdomen and a sharp pain in my left side/kidneys. One ds has had bad diarrhea for a couple of days so I'm hoping that's all it is (who ever thought I'd be hoping for diarrhea?). I don't have any spotting or anything.

mocha, from what I've heard from other prego mums cramping (even AF type cramping) is very normal in the early stages, but it's very worrying all the same! Has it got better at all? It's all such a worry isn't it?! {hugs}
FWIW, I thought I ovulated from the right hand side this cycle. I don't think we can necessarily tell which side we're ovulating from based on where we feel pains - Atomic made a good point that our bodies gear up to ovulate from both ovaries so it's quite possible we actually feel most pain from the side which doesn't make it! I'm just clinging at straws really!!2005

I'm definitely just coming down with something. By suppertime tonight I had a high fever and chills, and the aches and pains moved from my abdomen to all over my body. Oh joy. At least I know it isn't a problem with the baby...

Well I don't know how that happened - I just booked myself a gender scan, eek! It'll be on 17th December when I'm 17+2, exactly a month after the scan we're having in a couple of weeks time. I can cancel up to 48 hours beforehand but I'm sure that won't happen now I've actually booked it. I so hope I'm doing the right thing - I feel like I have 6 weeks to get ready for what is bound to be the 'blue' news!

Good for you, Z! I think I might book a pre-Christmas apt too, and I could always cancel it if I change my mind. Then again, I also liked the idea of waiting until after my 20 week scan and using the private scan as a bonding experience....
I kept getting worse last night until I nearly fainted at bedtime. All my kids slept fitfully, which meant I did too. I was up with DS3 at 4:45am for the day! I feel like a walking zombie today and I don't know if it's because I'm sick or because I only had a few hours sleep.
Tylenol helps with the cramps - I keep getting a backache which I *hope* is caused by this flu I seem to have. Do you think I should call my midwife? She's not technically my caregiver yet since we haven't had our first appointment, but that appt is on Tuesday, and she already knows me.
