    Mrs Dash and Chrystal Light

    Hi,

I have read about these products. Do they sway or are they just possible alternatives to items we can't have?

    Thanks.

I haven't done the IG diet or studied it that closely, but AFAK the Mrs Dash is something you mix up yourself as a seasoning... and Crystal Light is a drink that's full of aspartame that you can buy in the US and is good for lowering pH. Of course you'd have to order it in to the UK.

Careful when you order the crystal light. They are making ones with caffeine too- they say "energy" on them.

I just drank sugar free (aspartame sweetened) fruit squash and diet coke/pepsi if you don't want to order the Crystal Light. There are no magic foods, so it's not essential!

Instead of Mrs Dash mix of herbs are good....

Dill, Thyme, Oregano - increased progesterone and lengthened reproductive cycles
Turmeric and Nutmeg - lower testoserone
Garlic and Onion - raise testoserone

I add the herbs and nutmeg to all my meats but hubby doesn't like Thyme so he gets dill.

You can get crystal light on ebay from a uk seller that imports lots of American food but I haven't bothered as too much aspartame give me a headache. I'd go for the Raspberry flavour.

If your fine with aspartme (I'm ok with it in diet coke but splenda give me a massive headache) you could make milkshakes with strawberrries and splenda. Or splenda and hot milk. Or you could sprinkle it on raspberries to eat with yoghurt. Or some people just take the sweetners tablets like suplimets and will eat 10 of those a day!! Also light cranberry juice in the cartons will have sweetner in it too. I tend to drink that instead.

I use black pepper to season food sometimes (not even sure if that's allowed) but i've just resigned myself to bland food it's amazing how quickly your taste buds adapt though!

Crystal Light DOES sway because it has aspartame (check out my essay on sweeteners and swaying here) http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...-pink-and-blue

Mrs. Dash is just a seasoning that is sodium free and supposed to be safe for the IG Diet.

I allow a lot of different herbs and spices on the LE Diet and I believe Mrs. Dash to be a fine thing to use when swaying, but I personally think it tastes pretty gross and so I allow people to use things like basil, parsley, etc to substitute for salt and include them in my recipes.
