Hi ladies, it's been a while since I've been on and it's been a bit of a rollercoaster while I've been away.
So here's the story: I started the Pcos LE diet along with cardio 5x weekly earlier this year. 12 weeks in and we got lucky on the first attempt! We got an extremely faint BFP which lasted a week before it slowly disappeared and I started to bleed.
I just lost heart completely so we decided to stop swaying and just wait til it felt right to try again. And up to this past week that's exactly what we have been doing. Waiting.
But I think we may be ready to try again now so I'd like to do a kinda last minute sway seeing as I'm completely off the wagon for the last several months.
I've gained 8lbs putting me at 133lbs ish, my heaviest other than pregnancy in many years so I do have a bit to lose.
So my question is this: if I start cardio and pcos LE on Monday would around 8-10 weeks of strict diet, exercise 4-5x weekly and 50mg Clomid sway pink enough? We were speaking of putting a time limit on things so if there's no BFP by May we are going to move on and be happy with our 3 boys. If I were more pink friendly right now we'd start ttc asap but I've been eating terribly and snacking so much it's awful, at least any changes I make now will surely seem massive to my body lol!
Anyway, just hoping for a little advice as to the right path to take. I would really love to give ourselves one last chance at another baby, hopefully a girl obviously but I'm actually SO bloody now sex doesn't matter as much as before xx

Hi Hopper! Good to see you back!
I'm so sorry for your loss. It's so hard putting that effort in and having it taken away! While as you know we get best results with 12+ weeks on diet, I think 8-10 weeks is better than no LE diet at all. Any changes in the pink direction is good. Definitely do the cardio and I think Clomid is one of the best things you can do for pink. Sticking with one attempt will help as well. Sometimes the more laidback sways are the best for pink so I think just doing those few things we know that work, is great! Best of luck to you and fingers crossed for pink!!!'12

Thanks ks! How are you keeping? It definitely is so disheartening after all the effort and I really felt so positive about everything I had done. I suppose it's part of life but it's that bit harder this time I think to put my head back in the game. Some days I think to myself maybe we should just go for it but I know that I'd kick myself for not even swaying a little bit after all the time I've put into finding out about this sort of stuff.
Yeah I totally get you. It does seem that the more laidback you are the more pink it sways. I am thinking the easiest and most laidback LE diet I can do is to cut the snacking, stick with 2-3 meals daily and limit fat intake. I never have an issue limiting protein but my sweet tooth always messes up my fat intake!! I don't want to get caught up in it and at the end of the day I'd like a healthy baby regardless of gender but if limiting fat or cutting the snacks etc gives me a step up on conceiving a girl then that's just the cherry on the cake!!
And with the Clomid the best course would be to just have the single attempt at +opk right? Should I j&d? And it's still missionary that's most girl friendly right? Sorry for all the questions. I feel like I put everything out of my head entirely cause I didn't know if I'd ever try again let alone attempt a sway!

I cannot tell anyone if something will be enough. All I can say is that we've had good results with 8+ weeks on diet, not as stellar as 12, but still acceptibly good. Plus Clomid always sways pink.
I really can't ever recommend time limits on TTC. I find it adds so much stress to the equation that it could even possibly undermine a sway. It's just not a good idea but if that's the agreement that works for you and DH then it is what it is.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Being laid back is no reason not to sway, though. It makes me nervous when I see you guys justify not doing a sway diet in the name of "laidbackedness" LOL (not saying that is what you are doing, but people have done that) because people DO end up with massive regrets doing it that way.
ANY change you make will only help sway pink. Dropping snacks, cutting back on fat, yeah sure that can help. But it's obviously not going to be as good a chance as it might have been. You may be ok with that, and if so you have my full endorsement. My concern is, let's say you got an opposite last time because you have underlying PCO tendencies and so now for me to have you continue on eating sweets (and not stressing the alternate diet, which has gotten good results for people who got opposites on the standard diet) then I am not sure I'm doing you any favors with that. So I would really like to see you still do whole grain products and fruit and veg instead of sugar and white carbs if that is at all possible.
If you are TTC on a time limit then we might want to bend the rules on number of attempts somewhat. First month, one atttempt at positive BUT then after that start doing e4d (and I mean that first month! have the one attempt at pos and then the rest of the month or at least till you're sure you've ovulated, have e4d attempts to cover in case of delayed O) Second month, go right to e4d as soon as your period ends (or when you've taken last dose of Clomid). Third month go to e4d plus one more at pos OPK. Fourth month, SMEP. That's how I'd have you do it.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

Thank you Atomic! Well this week I've cut the snacking which had gotten WAY out of control! I've not cut sweet stuff entirely but I have had like some chocolate after dinner etc. I've not started the cardio yet, life is very hectic right now but once the kids school holidays start I will crack on with it. I definitely do think I have underlying pco tendencies so I have quit white carbs like bread and pasta. Like yesterday I had two slices of brown toast, little butter and a poached egg with coffee, then a coffee mid afternoon (when normally I'd reach for sugar to get me over the hump!) And then dinner was chicken with carrots and mash. I had 3 pieces of chocolate after that and then a hot chocolate and another slice of brown toast with butter that DH made me cause I was freezing after coming in from a PTA meeting. I kno I could do with cutting the sugar I had in the evening but maybe closer to ttc I will get stricter. Does that kind of sound ok for now? I mean the lack of snacking is huge, I'm really struggling with it to be honest. I didn't realise it had gotten so out of hand!!

Hi Atomic, I know you're busy so I don't want to be annoying you posting twice on the same thread on one day so no rush in replying but I just said I'd ask for advice on today's totals. I know I could have eaten less carby foods but DH stole the last of my wholemeal bread so I had to substitute with white and I did eat a little chocolate this evening to satiate the sweet tooth but just wondering how does this look to you? I had two meals so cals are probably on the low side. I've just done 45 mins cardio so that's a start on the exercise, I'll try increase it to 60 mins tomorrow but after reading your reply earlier I kinda said to hell with it and I'll just throw myself into it. I'm obviously gonna cheat over the holidays but I won't beat myself up over that!! And I've spoken to DH with regard to setting a time limit and he says we can just wait and see how things go and reevaluate how we are feeling if it's taking a long time. He expressed concern that I took swaying to the extreme the last time so he just doesn't want it dragging on and on thus losing more weight etc as time passes without a bfp.

Yes that is ok for now. I think we see such better results if you guys ease into into it especially things that are going to be tough (like no snacking, cutting back on sugar, etc). We have time to maneuver and for all we know, little changes over time are what works best anyway.

yes! Just don't beat yourself up over ANYTHING. Try to hit the goals but be realistic that you will fall short sometimes and it's not the end of the world when that happens - especially over holidays and stuff. I literally just posted a thread that may help with that. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/gend...tml#post959784
DH's concerns are easily addressed with this more laid back approach anyway. don't need to lose massive amounts of weight or any of it.
Re your totals - I want you on 50-60 g protein (and fat but you hit that) Realy important part of the alternate diet!!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
