Hi I have a few questions. First, I am going to start trying for a boy in July and have starting tracking ovulation to get a good hang on when I am ovulating. On day 11 I got a flashing smile face but had what I think was egg white cm. The next day I got a steady smile face (peak day) but a mix of creamy and egg white. The next day was just creamy cm. Which day did I ovulate? Second when the time does come to BD. When do I DTD, how many times and how far apart? I plan on starting the boy diet next month (may)

The unfortunate reality is that no one can tell when you ovulate based on OPK and EWCM (and this is true regardless of what people will tell you on other sites). Even worse, it doesn't stay consistent from month to month so you can't use past cycles to judge what will happen in future ones.

It is totally normal to a) have EWCM for many days in advance of O and b)have CM dry up on O Day or even O-1. Both of those things happen to people regularly. It's also normal to have EWCM a day or two after O. You just really can't use the CM consistency to pin down O Day. Hormones make EWCM and the hormones, while they're linked to ovulation, are not cause and effect the way people make it sound. Your hormone levels can drop a little after the surge or they can stay high even a day or two after ovulation and since it's the hormones that makes the symptoms and not ovulation per se, it is not any guarantee about where you are in the cycle.

You will ovulate an average of 24-36 hours after that first peak. That's the best guess. Sometimes you will get false negative or false positive OPK or your body surges and then decides not to ovulate yet, so OPK are helpful but not the end all, be all, unfortunately. We use them to time our attempts and they work well enough for that, but they can't pin down O to the precise day and for sure not the precise hour.

When to BD depends on if you are a believer in timing or not. Timing actually does not work and most of us on here have several timing opposites, but going off what you write I"m assuming you are wanting to use it. So in that case, you will wait for the peak reading and have 3 attempts - the night of peak (this will be late on O-1) then the next morning (O Day) and again the next night (also O Day). Then BD every other day for a few more days after that to guard against delayed ovulation. This is in line with Shettles timing (unless you O late, but if you do O late, it's best to keep BD anyway since otherwise you'd be having a cutoff!!) but allows you to get in the three attempts in the fertile window that has been shown to sway blue.

(3) For a “personalized plan and coaching service” subscription, do people need to distinguish between a custom plan and a TTC boy/girl plan? Hi WW!! If you get a custom plan there is a wait of about 7-10 days, if you get the instant download plan it will be emailed to you right away. Did you buy the "custom" or personalized plan, or the readymade plan?? The difference is that the readymade plan will be sent to you immediately and is not personalized, and the custom plan I will make for you based on your personal information.
