Antral Follicle Count U/S Question

Can I ask anyone who has had Clomid while swaying, when did you get your Antral Follicle Count ultrasound done? Last time my Dr asked me to do it the day my period finished, which ended up being CD 7, but I remember atomic saying that its not usually when they do it. When would be the best/normal time to do it if its not at the end of your period?

also, my Dr asked me to do Clomid CD 2-6 last time and has asked me to do the same this time.

Well, is he really after AFC data or just looking at your response to clomid. So you took clomid days 2-6 and then had a scan day 7? That's not an AFC. That is seeing how the clomid did.

A true AFC is done without meds to see what your follicle count looks like to gauge your fertility. They vary from month to month though. When you do an AFC for pretesting, they are done days 2-4.

Most people are doing it later, like more like CD 10 or later. The issue with doing it too soon is that they're going to see lots of immature eggs and not know which one(s) or how many are going to develop fully. The doctor very well may know things I don't know but AFAIK that is not going to be a terribly helpful scan (like at all) because the eggos will not be mature enough to be able to see how many mature eggs you'll have.
