Hello,
I’m getting ready for my boy sway once this cycle is over and debating on what lube I should use. I was looking at some studies conducted on pre-seed and it seems it’s not quite as amazing as I was led to believe. It had a slight negative effect on sperm, and at best no effect. I’ve used it in the past for 10 cycles when trying to conceive and never got pregnant. The cycle I switched to mucinex, and coconut oil I conceived my daughter, which was perfect because I wanted a girl.
I’ve been making a fair amount of ewcm lately but this time around I’ll be on 50mg Clomid and want to be prepared. Im already set on using mucinex. I’ll also be trying out green tea this cycle to see if I want to incorporate that when we sway. I have tried evening primrose oil, but it seemed to dry me out. I’ve been taking an omega 3-6-9 supplement although I’m debating switching to regular fish oil. The other options im considering are baking soda finger, or a pinch of baking soda in pre-seed, or egg whites. This all may seem like a lot but I really hope next cycle can be a successful boy sway so I can bid farewell to this ttc thing.
Here is the study I read, and some commentary on it:

PLEASE do not replace Preseed with baking soda or egg whites. OR coconut oil. Sperm is not made to swim through baking soda or coconut oil and baking soda kills sperm. Egg whites can cause infections that can cause miscarriages and I will never recommend that. Regardless of what studies find I will also not ever recommend oil (barring a LOT of good data proving it works) because sperm is not designed to swim through oil and oil has also caused vaginal infections (and I know the herb people claim coco oil is a miracle cure for everthing but trust me, I've seen too many people myself included with issues after using oil for lubes to sign off on it.).
I agree that in studies Preseed has not been as fab as we would like at first (but the study found the effect temporary and the sperm recovered in time.). But this doesn't mean that it doesn't sway blue for some people. Many of my blue swayers NEVER have any visible EWCM. EWCM is better than Preseed for sure (I got 4 boys and NEVER used PReseed in my life!) But for those who have no EWCM, they want/need something for comfortable intercourse and the options are either KY jelly or whatever, or Preseed.
We always use Preseed with Mucinex (guaifenesin) and other things to boost levels of EWCM. So my recommendation is that if you have EWCM great, that's totally fine, use only that. If you don't or if you are just not that confident without something additional to sway, then do Preseed. It is still by far and away the best option for blue swayers. Everything else either sways pink, inhibits conception (even saliva!) or is actively harmful like baking soda and egg whites.
No EPO though! We found that was making lots of opposites and have subsequently quit using it.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I used Preseed with DS1! We got pregnant on the first try with it and possibly with 1 attempt (we BD'd the day before O and the night of O day so that 2nd attempt may have been too late). I had a very boy-friendly lifestyle as well.
