The latest results on one attempt for pink

    Hi atomic,
I'm swaying pink and I do want to get pregnant quickly. Last month we did one attempt at +ve Opk, but I got a BFN! Both me and DH are 30 and healthy. We got pregnant with DS very quickly.

Is one attempt still getting good results for pink? I'm wondering if this cycle, it's worth getting an attempt in at +ve Opk, and another one the next day, to improve odds of pregnancy!

And in your experience, are women (without fertility issues) getting pregnant within 1-3 months of one attempt at +ve Opk?

    Thanks so much!

Yes it is good results but I know atomic does say to move to e4d when it hasn’t worked for a few months, I (and many others) got my pink bundle with e4d.

Let me tell you firstly why I believe in one attempt so much.

In the earliest days of the site no one had ever guessed that number of attempts could possibly sway. So we had people do all the various sway tactics (timing, frequency, pH, etc) all of which cut odds of conception hugely and then when people went 4-6 months without conceiving (which most did) we started adding attempts. This was the lowest success rates of the site. Very disappointing, but the one thing we found during that time is that those who had one attempt had 10-15% higher success rates than those who had 2 attempts and 30% higher success rates than those who had 3. EVEN when these people were doing super strict sways otherwise with all the various sway tactics, their results were still much, much worse than those who did one attempt.

At the same time we noticed that vitex, SP, antihistamine, timing (when done with more than one attempt), pH jellies, frequency patterns were getting about the same rate of success both for those who did them and those who didn't. This means that none of these things are actually even working!! So by adding attempts and relying on these things we were actually causing terrible results.

Once I realized this we immediately changed it to put emphasis on the one attempt and move away from emphasising the other stuff and our success rates went up immediately and have stayed up ever since. I cannot draw any other conclusion than that one attempt sways, two attempts is better than three but worse than one, and three attempts sways strongly blue. So, even though it is possible to get a girl with 2 attempts or 3, I do still believe strongly that 1 attempt is the way to go at least to start with for most.

Now, over the course of time as more and more people heard about one attempt, many people started doing one attempt without having done much else to sway - not enough time on diet and without exercise, to be exact. The results of one attempt have fallen over time but based on what happened before, I still believe that one attempt is better than 2, and 2 is better than three. This has become eclipsed by people who are NOT doing otherwise good sways in terms of diet and exercise still doing the one attempt, but since I know based on what I witnessed in the past that one attempt really does seem to be swaying strongly with no other reasonable expectation for what happened 2010-2013 I still believe one attempt is best regardless of what our stats seem to show at this point in time.

Thus, any 30 year old couple who has gotten pregnant easily in the past, I don't think you should go to 2 attempts only the second month of trying. You of course can always choose to do that but I don't think it's going to be your best shot. I would strongly recommend giving one attempt at least 1-2 more months, then giving e4d (NOT 2 attempts back to back!) a couple months before even considering doing 2 attempts in the fertile window.

We have an average 3 months to pregnancy. Since I have everyone start off doing one attempt except for a very small majority of people, most of these people were doing one attempt. You CAN get pregnant with one attempt; people always assume they can't but it is totally possible to do so. of our results (500 people) about half of them (241) got pregnant with one attempt and it was in an average of 3 months' time.

Thank you so much for taking the time to walk me through your reasoning! I appreciate that!
I'm convinced to give one attempt a shot for this month's cycle!( I just hope DH doesn't make a fuss. He wants to BD every other day, as that's the way he thinks babies are made vs charting temping and sticks)

If worse comes to worse and DH insists on BD every other day it's not the end of the world, try to time it so you end up with O-5, O-3, O-1 and O+1 attempts and that will really only be 1 1/2 attempts, LOL.

I just have people BD every 4th day (Monday/Thurs for better odds of conception, Mon/Fri for better odds of pink but lower odds of conception, and not those days in particular that just demonstrates how u count the days) starting after AF ends and going on through till you are 100% certain you've ovulated (even if that means you carry on till your next period begins!)

With this method you don't do OPK and don't BD the day of the OPK. You just BD regularly, unprotected, just far enough apart so it really works out to be one attempt in the fertile window.
