Hi! I have wondered the same. I was on this for a long time after my recurrent losses. I know at high doses it supposedly controls blood sugar.
I do know at least one woman for sure who had a boy while on it (she was hoping for a girl!) because she was taking that and many other supplements to help reduce miscarriage. I took it for my current pregnancy and can only hope it will have helped my sway for my boy.

I do not know and when I don't know, I suggest that no one take it.
When I analyze how it's said to work, I see things that could potentially sway either direction. It's not at all clearcut and I prefer to have seen several people taking it so I can get a feel for how it actually sways before recommending it.!!!
