    Nub Question

I’m very new to the nub theory, so I wanted to see if there is any nub visible in these pics? I have no idea what I’m looking at-ha! If there is a nub, does it look girly or like a boy? Thanks!

Maybe girl based on first pic but baby looks pretty small. What is the gestation here? The nub theory is most accurate at around 13 weeks, boys and girls look pretty much the same until a bit after 12 weeks.

Oh ok, it’s early...11 weeks. So that is the nub in the first pic? I wasn’t sure if it was the foot. And is there one seen in the others? I know it’s too early to tell, but I’m just trying to figure out what the nub is Thanks!!

The nub is only clearly seen in the first pic. And you're right, it's too early to tell with this scan and it's still 50/50 but if the nub still looked like that close to 13 weeks it would be girly looking.

It's too early for nub shots. That blobby thing in the first pic is the nub, but you can't tell the difference between boys and girls at this stage of gestation. Cute baby!

Thanks Atomic! I’ve had 4 early losses this past year, so we are praying this is our rainbow[emoji1317] I swayed for over a year for a girl. I’ve been reading about the nub theory and it seems mine may be a boy because the small line of the fork is on top. Trying to remain hopeful for a girl though! But above all, we just want a HEATHY baby!! Thanks for all of your help.

Whoever told you that is mistaken. Boys and girls both look like girls at this gestation. All babies' genitals start off as "girls" and it's only after the Y chromosome "wakes up" at the end of the 10th week and starts making testosterone, that the "girl" parts in boys turn into boy parts. Till that happens, there is NO DIFFERENCE at all and the 11th week is too early to see any difference on ultrasound. Late 12th or even into the 13th/14th week is much more reliable.
