Tick tock tick tock! Why can't there be a test that shows whether the egg was caught or not lol! Only 3dpo and going nuts already. Mentally trying to decide if I could stay team green or not and I don't even know if I'll even get a bfp! Actually went looking for a pencil to do the pencil test (just to see if it would swing the right amount of times) and out of the 100 pencils I looked at not one of them had an eraser! Cant even pass the time with amusing theories lol. Onto something productive and folding laundry

Haha! And the waiting doesn't get any better when you are preg! When I was preg with DD I was itching to find out boy or girl (I am not a big fan of preg anyway, it doesn't feel safe to me, so it was easier to focus on something else... and I just plain wanted to know lol). The symptom spotting doesn't stop either. I was convinced that my lack of morning sickness was a sign she was a girl.. which turned out to be true, but I think it had more to do with the fact that she was sick and it wasn't a strong preg than anything. Anyway, my point is even once we get preg we are still going to be waiting and analyzing everything for clues. I have one thing to my benefit, given my losses they want to do a verifi test at 12 weeks, assuming a singleton preg since they won't do it for twins+, so I'll likely know gender around 13'ish weeks but that is still a long time to wait. Then there is the wait to feel baby move, the wait for the point of viability, etc. Pregnancy is a big long 2WW haha The 40WW Though buying lots of cute baby stuff does take the edge off

You're so right lol! One long wait! Please pardon my ignorance but what is a verifi test? Hope thats not an insensitive question its not intended to be. And how many scans do you get where you are? We get one at 7, 12/13, and 20 weeks as the norm. With ds2 I went private and got to see him every appointment, just a quick look each appointment!

Not insensitive at all. A verifi test is a blood test. They take a sample of the mom's blood and look for the baby's DNA in it. It tests for things like Down's and such. Here is the website if you want to know more: verifiŽ Prenatal Test by Progenity | Progenity

It varies by doc and by how many your insurance will pay for. I haven't been considered low risk in a long time so I am not 100% what the norm is. With my first I had 3 early on. 1 at ER where I found out I was preg... thought I had food poisoning lol, then 2 more because they refused to believe I wasn't 10 weeks along (irregular cycles) no matter how many times I told them. I wasn't even charting back then, just intuition I guess. Anyway, I got one and they "couldn't find" him so I had another a couple weeks later after blood tests confirmed that I was still preg and my levels were tripling every other day (thus blowing their idea of a problem out of the water). I had another at about 20'ish weeks (gender u/s) and another late in preg.. so 4 total if I remember correctly, but I know some ppl don't even get that many. With my second I only had 2, one early on and the 20 week gender u/s where we discovered he had passed. Since then I get them frequently. With my 3rd I had one each month until I was 12 weeks, 2 around 20 weeks (1 regular/3D at my OB's and 1 3D at my high risk specialists office) and 3(2 reg and 1 3D), I think, towards the end of preg, for a total of 8 if I am remembering correctly. With my 4th I had one at about 6 weeks at my high risk specialists office and one at 7w 6d where we learned she had stopped growing, but they had planned to do many more. They (high risk specialists) said they wanted to do another at 12 weeks, 16 weeks, 21 weeks and then another around 35 weeks... all in addition to what my regular OB would have done. So, I am kinda spoiled in the u/s dept, which is a good thing once we find the heart beat and I can relax and enjoy seeing my little bean.

In Australia it's called the harmony or NIPT test, can be down at 10+3 and you will have results back by 12 weeks

Thanks for the link two I'll go in and have a look. I'm so sorry about your losses. I remember with ds1 my local doc couldn't find hb with doppler at around 10 weeks?? I went to the hospital and waited for an hour before I got checked and he was all good just in a bad position for picking up hb took about another 10 mins or so to find though and I held it together until I got back to work then started full on sobbing in front of my lovely co-workers, spit runny nose the lot was a mess. I really thought for that hour and a half that I'd lost my baby and I'll never ever forget that feeling. I was so very lucky and I feel a very real empathy for those who were not lucky and have to live with that feeling

Thanks Magical! Is this a new thing? dh was actually looking at some blood test thing online the other night and I bet this is what it was. He was also looking at downs/age stats. I got abit mad at him and said I didn't want to talk about that yet!! Let's just focus on getting pregnant first!

Been around for about 7 years, it's getting more popular now, because it's not as expensive as it use to be. Yes it checks for downs etc, and can tell you 100% gender before 12 weeks. I'm going to get it done but I'm over 30 so it's recommended.
