Ah gorgeous baby LittleBaby!
I'm ok- have accepted the c-section decision but still trying to get to them with it if that makes sense ?
I'm 36 weeks so 3 weeks to go!! Will have a date next Tuesday when I meet with my OB.
So excited to meet this little greenie... S/he has been moving like crazy lately.
Ladies who had previous c-section, how long did you stay in hospital for?
The mw I saw yesterday told me that the NHS (in the UK) is piloting a 'fast track' care for scheduled c-sections and basically you only stay 24hrs! I don't think I want to be part of the experiment, its major surgery isn't it so surely you should be cared for a little longer? It sounds like they want you out as quickly as the can so they can have your bed!2003 - 2005 - 2013

I live in Greece and here you stay in hospital 3-4 days, depending on someone's physical condition. I know that the main thing doctor's worry about is post-birth bleeding or ileus, so as soon as someone has bowel movement or even gas it's a very good sign and speeds up discharge from hospital. My best wishes to everyone for a safe delivery of your babies!!!!

La vie soooo exciting!! Here in NZ you get 5-7 nights depending on how you are coping. I did not need more than three with my DS 1 and 2. There is no way they should kick you out after 24 hrs as at least the first 24 hrs you are stuck in bed with a catheter and hooked up to pain killers!! You are not even supposed to lift your baby. I think 3 nights would be sufficient for a good recovery. Maybe see if they can transfer you to a maternity home/ birth care type place if they need beds in hospital. Soooo excited for you and to meet your little greenie. I am getting organised now and starting on the nursery, only 5 weeks left of work!! Can you tell I am on countdown? ! Xx

Lavie, I had a c-section with DD2 it was quite a surprise. I found out the day I went into labor that she was breech. I was very upset.
The best advice I can give you is see if you can get a large abdominal brace to go around your middle. Once you get up and start walking having the brace on will make a huge difference. DH would squeeze it on me really tight and it made walking so much easier. In the USA my insurance covered it so that helped.
The sooner you can get up and move the better. I did not get up and move for a long time and I paid for it. No one said anything and i was in a lot of pain and shock. Use the pain killers well and be kind and gentle to yourself.
I certainly hope they don't send you home after 24 hrs. THat is insane!!!
