I am 170cm tall and was 70kg when I conceived my boy - I have an athletic/muscular shape and was doing weights 3/4 times a week, yoga once and pilates once a week.

Since it can only help to have more data, here is some off the top of my head:

my older half sister has 2 girls, both conceived in late 30s, her BMI is 18.5 (she's very fit & muscular, a personal trainer)

one of my best friends has 3 boys, conceived in later twenties/early 30s, her BMI is 17 (vegetarian runner, Martha type, very competitive professionally)

Personally I doubt BMI has much to do with it, as individual health probably matters most and that isn't based on very specific BMIs.

I am 5 ft. Have had 5 kids.
    1) Girl- weight was 95 pounds (yes I was underweight at this time).
    2) Boy- weight was 110 pounds
    3) Boy- weight was 115 pounds
    4) Boy- weight was 120 pounds
    5) Girl- weight was 120 pounds. (BUT this is a healthy weight, I was even fitting into cloths from before I was pregnant with baby 1!! We were working out and I had visible abs...lol) (should mention that, this pregnancy was the first since number 1 that we had truly been working out regularly).
Mom of 5, DD , DS1 ,DS2 , DS3 and surprise DD 2 . Baby number 5 sure was meant to be here, she was born after I had a tubal ligation after baby 4 was born! We are so happy to have her join us, done having kids now (hopefully my body now agrees)!!

i agree BMI probably doesn't indicate much on an individual level, but if Trivers Willard does work for swaying we should see a trend across the entire population where lower BMI = more girls conceived even if it's only by a couple of percentage points. This isn't a matter of "what magic BMI will sway", it's a matter of what this data indicates overall for swaying.
