Oh my goodness, so loving the hats! Do they take long to make? Hope you're doing well x

Today he got his thumb trapped in a glass door hinge. And when i say trapped i mean 5 mins of screaming whilst 17 hotel staff attempt to wedge it open with spoons and unscrew the door. Seriously scary stuff - i really thought he was going to lose a thumb. The xrays show a severely (but not broken) bone so he was very lucky. Now i just want them to sit in bed with me and watch TV. I dont want them to move. Ever. What the hell am i going to be like with a newborn? I may attempt the longest pregnancy ever. Elephants manage two years dont they.
Ouch! Poor little guy... So glad he wasn't badly injured. Makes you wonder how on earth he managed to wedge it in there so well, especially when it takes that much effort to get it out! Of course, telling them to just sit down and keep out of mischief never seems to work...

Wow, can you imagine being pregnant for 2 years?! We're impatient enough with 2ww and gender scan as it is - I think I'd go insane waiting. Also wondering how many years it'll take to shift the baby weight?

... Now wondering if elephants have problems with morning sickness...

    ... Yeah, i'm tired...

Ah the royal baby.... yes I'm excited, just as I would be for any new parents But a baby is a baby! This is not the second coming of Christ or anything... or is it? hahahaha

I guess girl too... I guess we'll see soon!
Yes, exactly. I'm not anti-royals by any stretch of the imagination, but this will be news for MONTHS! She had a baby - congrats, am really happy for them both (I donated all my blue dust!). But there is a LOT of stuff that really should make the news, that is really quite important but won't.

    Sorry, I'm done. Aaand breathe...

... Nah, I say give it a few more weeks/a month. They haven't named him yet, left hospital yet, been presented to the general public yet, been christened yet...

Very well said!! I'm just sooo glad it's a boy, girls are the preferable gender (seen as well-behaved, quiet etc) as it is in the UK so it would've been insufferable with the media following the fashion style of a newborn princess! Or maybe that's the GD talking..... We boy mums are fashionable now, haha!!

Emily that sounds absolutely terrifying! I'm glad his thumb is okay, but how are you now? You must still be shaken by the whole episode too. I expect he's stayed close to you ever since hasn't he?

I remember someone telling me when ds1 was a baby that when they become toddlers they climb off your lap on onto your minds forever. Not a truer word said!

BTW, just for reassurance when I was around 3-4yrs old I was playing slam the doors with my younger sister and managed to trap her thumb in the door, almost completely severing it. Yes, I was always told I should've been a boy Anyway, it was reattached very successfully and you'd never know. She must've been about 18 months old at the time. I think that if things hadn't turned out as they did for your ds2 - thank goodness they did!! - he would've been okay.

Don't beat yourself up about it. I expect he won't do it again

I for one am happy to see some happy news on the news. There is way more important stuff, loads in fact, so much tragedy, heartache, violence, frustration... But It's nice to be reminded that news can be nice sometimes too. I find babies so exciting and look forward to hearing the name and seeing a pic. Then I'll be done. :-)
