Boyjoy, I was with DD at an amusement park today and there were 3 girls there who had to be in their late 20's and one had a shirt that said "Big Sister" another, "Middle Sister" and the 3rd, of course ... "Little Sister" ... they were having the best time together. It totally made me a bit more OK with the idea of a 3rd girl.

Which is good, since I came home and POAS and got my BFP. HOLY *&%%$#. After 5 days of nausea and 2 days of sore boobs at least I know why ....

Well AF is definitely here, oh well in 2 weeks i can try again! I don't think we are getting the sperm close enough to the cervix...i will be looking into a different method or something as i believe the syringes just aren't big enough....well compared to a penis iykwim?

Are you using the 60ml syringes? They're about the right size I would think.

No we use 10ml, i wasn't aware of a 6ml....might have to check those out. Thanks Bec, and TTC i will google it after dinner

Congrats Begonia!

Just sneaking it, but taking a break this cycle after Dh's fever. Pos OPK today, so about a month away from next trial. Glad to see another BFP!

When we first tried in America we bought some catheters that went into you uterus so i might see if i can buy more even just to get it right onto the cervix. Some women use turkey basters but i think that's too big lol

Kris, sorry about bfn. Could you tell me how you do the baby making thing. Do you have a regular donor, can the hosp do an iui for you to make sure it gets to cervix?

Kris, sorry about bfn. Could you tell me how you do the baby making thing. Do you have a regular donor, can the hosp do an iui for you to make sure it gets to cervix?

Well i do have a new donor, used him this past month and will use him again if he's willing to help. The cost of IUI is roughly the same as IVF after the rebates so i didn't want to go down that path in case it didn't work. The sperm is $950 per vial and you only get one shot with it, but if i did IVF they'd fertilise as many eggs as they could with it and freeze them for subsequent attempts.

I will do IVF if home inseminations don't work. As for what we have done here is the method we've been using-
Track ovulation with opk's and clearblue digital to make sure the timing is right, head to Sydney and pick up the donor to come to our hotel to do his thing. Once he is done he calls us so we come back into the room and my partner drives him home. I use some preseed then suck up the sperm with a 10ml syringe...no needle obviously :P It's very fast so the sperm doesn't have too long to sit around in the cup.
Then lay down with hips propped, put it in as far as it goes then slowly squirt it in. have a big O then lay there as long as i can. When i need to pee i put in an instead cup for a few hours then do the same thing the next day. I do have a vag speculum like dr's use, the first time we used that it pulled all the sperm out with it so i'm scared to use it again.
I thought maybe my partner could find my cervix and squirt a little on it then remove the speculum and inject the rest??

Oh the 60ml syringes will work so much better at getting those little swimmers closer to the cervix. They're quite big though.

Ok i get you now. I cant believe IUI is the same price as IVF, in England it's free of charge for IUI & roughly £2700 for IVF. It must be stressful to go through all that, i really wish you all the best & pray that you get preggers soon.
It's a good idea like you said to have your partner to help with injecting, you'll have better chances. Have you looked at web for people who are using the same method as you are, you could get some helpful tips on what they are using to inject
