Here it is, 11 wks, 2 days. Baby's a little curled, but I think I still see an upward angle, that considered. She looked between the legs, too, and I definitely saw something. Looked like 2 tiny little balls with a ball on top of it...I have seen girl shots like that, but not many. I guess it's still early, but yeah...it's a boy. Sigh.

Rainbow - just stared at it for a good long while and I obviously don't know if it's a nub but I'm not sure what else it could be. Maybe just like how some nubs show almost as just a pencil thin line because of the placement of the wand, this is showing in a more chubby angle. The skull shape is also boyish, but we know that's not nearly as accurate as nubs. I definitely agree that it's super early and nubs aren't always reliable but I'd probably *myself* just assume boy from everything and then maybe be surprised later on. I'm seriously not wanting to sound harsh or anything because I'd love that to be your DD, but I'm just thinking what would be going through MY mind if it were my picture. Again, I'm not an expert nub-er but just from seeing everything on the site I know how it goes. They are all so different so it's seriously really hard to know! I don't even know what gender My baby is - no nub shot or any clues from 20 week scan and I'm grasping at straws thinking how it could possible be a girl after my super strong girl sway turned more boy sway the month I got my BFP. Like everyone I still think there's a possibility of this being your girl because I don't know how much I trust nubs!!

As I side note.. I do have to say that random floating thing on the left looks more like an upright penis than your nub does

Waiting4Daisy - Woohoo on your scan! NT, right? Feel better soon!

Onthepond - Sorry you feel so yucky! When is your NT scan??

BeadinMom - Thanks for starting the "funny story" question. I needed something to cheer me up!

Thank you ladies for your honest opinions. Had a breakdown on the phone with DH a little while ago. The boys (all 3, even the baby) were being awful, and he called in the middle of it. He's having to work today, and has been working lots of hours lately...it's summer and the kids are on each other's nerves and mine, too! Anyway, I just unloaded on him, crying that I cannot handle another boy, as I can't even handle the 3 I have and blah, blah, blah. I was a blubbering mess. Thankfully, he was very sweet and encouraging and said he would be home soon. He thinks we should just have faith that this is a girl, but man, after what I've seen (Ramzi & nub theory), it's tough to think that. I am being realistic, maybe pessimistic, but I feel it will be a miracle if it's a girl.

All that being said, I have decided that in the pic I posted, something is off about the "nub." On one hand, what else could it be, but it is really too big for a nub! I looked back AGAIN (can you tell I'm a boy mom with all my obsessing?? lol) at my boys' NT scan pics, and after searching them each very hard, determined that in DS1's (11 weeks, 6 days) there is a definite nub in the pic. Thing is, it is shaped like a perfect girl nub (long skinny white line with a fork on the end...have never seen the fork before today, cause it was a little darker than the line), but with a slight up angle. I'm pretty sure if I had posted it on here back then, I would have gotten boy guesses, because of the up angle, but it is definitely long, skinny, and forked. So, I am thinking something is weird about the pic that I got...nubs just aren't that huge, especially at this gestation! I think it could be partly a nub, but that somehow maybe something else is there, too, like the leg or cord or something.

I looked at the other two pics of this baby, and while at first I didn't think there was a nub in either, now I think there could be a nub in both. One looks boyish (thin, short white line with a possible little bump at the top...which could also be a part of the leg, since it's extending right above it), the other girlish (two white lines right under a cord-looking thingy). Sooo....totally confused at the moment, but still leaning boy. Will be utterly shocked if it's a girl. Ok. I think I will stop selfishly going on about my nub shots so that you all can get a break!! Haha. Will know soon enough, I guess.

Rainbowgirl, I can't remember where I read this, but one of the techs posted on a forum pics of a baby's nub....one pic looking girly...one pic looking boyish....SAME BABY.
Her point was, depending on the angle of the wand and the baby's position, it could go either way - from a pic.
Did your tech guess gender for you???

Rainbow-I agree I think that pic may not be the nub. It is really large and def has an angle on the end which most nubs I've seen don't have that at all. I think you have every right to hold on to your pink dream until you know for sure and I think you have a great shot at a girl! Try not to worry to much and just enjoy being able to think this could still be pink. Bc guess what---it could be!!!! :-)

She didn't guess, and I didn't ask. I thought what I was looking at was boyish, so I think I just didn't want to get it confirmed by her! So sad!

sorry to jump in your chat but in my time on here i haven't seen a boy nub look like that at 11+2 they all look like girls at that stage nubs don't rise until mid week 11, early week 12. are the dates they gave you right by your opk? In my opinion your either further along or thats not a nub (poss part of leg - do you have any other shots for comparison?). Maybe post in us forum if you haven't already, lovemy4 or nbp may have some better idea.

beadin i remember lovemy4 saying angles can affect the way a boy nub looks and that it was much easier to make a boy nub look girly than it was to make a true girl nub look like a boys

My friend on ig got a heap of boy guesses on her nub that turned out to be a girl. She explained something to do with the amniotic fluid making the nub flap or something, I can't remember exactly but babe was definitely a girl. I would be very surprised as mrs p said if a nub at that gestation would be that angled. My other friend had a flat nub at 11 weeks that turned out to be a girl.

I'd definitely keep hope. Nubs are not 100% and can go either way. Don't let it get to you now. You don't know anything for sure. I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you.

I think it is an nt scan, it says it is but I remember once they wouldn't do the nuchal fold measurement at one hospital so it was basically just a dating scan (they wouldn't do it because some hospitals didn't have the training to measure nuchal folds so because of that no hospital could offer it as would have been unfair apparently).

Rainbow - I definitely think you should just pretend you didn't get the scan and carry on until you actually get confirmation from a test or 20 weeks ultrasound. There is so much variation with nubs, and babies for that matter so I just think you can't get too convinced either way by a simple nub shot. Like the PP mentioned, the way the wand is placed and the angle of the shot add so many variables that it's too hard to know. You definitely still have a shot at a girl - especially with such a good sway!

Thank you all, ladies, for your encouragement. I have been so down today, it's ridiculous. Got in a giant fight with DH because I was being bitchy with the boys (they were TOUGH today)...fight ended with me going upstairs, locking myself in our bedroom, and crying my eyes out. OMG. I am so not a fan of how GD is affecting me. Of course, I am a grown-up, and I can choose to behave differently. I am ashamed of my negativity and attitude about all of this...this sweet baby didn't ask to be conceived, and will be a beautiful blessing to our family no matter what. It usually takes me FOREVER to get pregnant, and this time it happened right away. I cannot even explain enough what a complete shock that is!! This baby is SO meant to be, and I know it in my heart. If it's another little boy, I can't wait to see what is so special about him that God meant him for our family! This is going to be my new attitude. I will know gender soon enough...between Aug. 19th-23rd (MaterniT21). Someone asked about my next scan...but I will already know gender for a month before then, haha! Anyway, thanks for letting me rant, ladies, and for your awesome encouragement. I really do feel better already!

Oh, and Mrs. P...you asked about my dates. Yes, they match with my OPK. Baby was measuring 11+5 days at appt. (at 11+2), but at my 8-wk check at 8+1, was measuring 7+6 at the largest measurement. So, my dates are good. Thanks again so much for your input!
