I'm pretty anal and like things organized and clean so that in combination with wanting to nest is making this a brutal time. Lol. I don't quite remember if I nested this early last time- it seems early but it sounds like it must be normal if you all feel the same way.

I just looked it up and it said that nesting can hit after 5 months. It can also hit at 36+ weeks and that it can be a sign of impending labor in that time frame. So, yeah... I guess it's prettt normal.

So my household has never had any kind of tummy bug until today
My 6 year old has something...hoping to god it isn't the norovirus because the last thing we all need is to get sick. Also, timely is our plumbing not working so I can't do any wash. I mean, really...UGH.

Oh, lala, that sucks!
I'm nesting big time too. Mostly by choice, since I'm already uncomfortable moving around and know it's only gonna get worse! Finally started tackling the long list of baby things we need this weekend. I thought I'd go to the baby store and just buy a few little things we need to get started... $200 later I have no idea how blankets and binkies can be so freakin expensive! Seriously?! I'm dreading the big stuff. I *think* I saved a car seat packed away somewhere, but 4 years later what are the chances it hasn't been recalled? And OMG, strollers? Okay, I need a double and we don't have sidewalks here, so we need something with rugged tires... but the cheapest one I looked at this weekend was almost $500. I want a stroller not a car. lol! Man, it's hard spending all this with another kid in college. I keep thinking things like "hmmm...bottle sanitizer or text books...decisions, decisions."

Oh boy- I went all used this time since it's the last. I bought a used peg perego infant seat that doesn't expire for another couple years and a double BOb for $275. Go used!

Agreed! There are a few things I won't buy used (like car seats- you don't know if they have been in an accident, shoes, binkies, pump- you can never be 100% that every part gets sanitized unless it's just a hand pump and with all the diseases out there... yeah, no thanks!, etc.) but I have zero qualms buying clothes and such second hand. My best friend got us a $400+ crib from a yard sale as a baby gift and only paid $35! It's got a few scratches and such, and we have to get a few new screws but it's a BEAUTIFUL crib! Anything I can sanitize the crap out of (with the exception of bottles and binkies... I am just more particular about stuff like that) I will buy second hand if I see it... Bought a tub (already had an insert for newborns at home) for $2. It's blue but who cares, lol, it's just a tub
You have to watch for stains on clothing but you can save a FORTUNE buying used clothes and considering how fast they grow it makes good financial sense to do it! I buy/will buy a few pieces new, but like onsies and sleepers... they add up FAST because you need a lot of onsies and sleepers can be just plain pricey... and I have found some absolutely adorable outfits too in the process. Most of what I buy new, clothes-wise, will be dress-up clothes. I'm on the hunt for a used rocker glider. Those things can be pricey. No luck yet... mostly just rocking chairs but we'll see what comes up

I have an aversion to used stuff unless it's from someone I know. There are few exceptions to this.

Oh and I should probably mention that anything I buy used I immediately come home and throw in the washer, boiling water, bleach, etc. To kill anything that might have tried to come with it (germs, bugs, etc.) But I am the same way with store bought stuff as well so....
