I coped really well with the disturbed sleep when he was little... and could function strangely well during the day with that!
I just didn't think he would still be waking every 2-3hrs at 11 months! it only really improved at 12 months when I night-weaned him (he now gets BF right before bed, and first thing in the morning and that's it) but even now nothing will persuade him to wake up later than 5am unless he's ill. He's 13.5 months now.
he had a dummy briefly; at first it worked a treat and he'd suck it and go straight to sleep... but then he started to wake up when it would fall out overnight (every 10mins or so was his worst) so we confiscated that and went cold turkey and he learnt to drift off without it... but not without me being there and/or offering him boobs to comfort-suck on.
We tried the Baby Whisperer's shh/pat and pick up/put down multiple times (I'm stronger willed than he is and I never back down so as to give mixed messages, but even then he never learnt to self-settle). Even if the baby whisperer's techniques would work for a few days (i.e., still with me having to go in to settle him) it wasn't long before he would teethe or be ill and go back to square one and he never learnt to just go to sleep on his own despite all my persistence... and even then, patting and shhing is still a "prop", isn't it? I think I spent over 6 months trying to comfort him to sleep like that.
EVENTUALLY we caved and decided to try controlled crying... that didn't work well either, it wouldn't comfort him when we went back in, he would just scream harder to try and get us to pick him up.
So all in all it's been quite a stressful year! Plus a more tired baby means a more grizzly one during the day... ever since he's started sleeping in longer blocks since we night-weaned it's like he's a different baby! He's so happy and content now, most of the time

awww!! that's just adorable! I hope my DS grows up like that too
really hope it works for you, you're far more patient than me!
I really think that even if I drop underweight now I'll keep going until I either stop OVing or get a BFP.. stopping last time didn't do me any good and just delayed everything by a month!

They're all so different, aren't they? I'll still feed him at night but it's usually only once now or not at all. I didn't try any sleeping techniques. I must just be way too relaxed about not being in control, or something! I just went along with his ebbs and flows! I'm so odd, but it worked out. Sure, there was the odd night where I KNEW he was super tired and just needed to fall asleep, but usually those times were complicated by having other things going on (a bigger awareness about the world around him, teething, etcetera) so I just let go and went with it.
Babies, they can never be predicted! They are their own little beings and they'll do whatever they do! Us parents probably learn as much as them simultaneously!

they're definitely unique little souls that's for sure! love him, though, and wouldn't change his quirks for the world
can't wait to do it all over again, even the night feeds even though I used to frequently wake up in the middle of the night and, from exhaustion, search the bed for him convinced he was in bed with us! lol

Pink - sometimes af arriving can be a relief. I always saw CD 1 as a fresh start. Make sure you enjoy some true cheat days before you go back to the diet full time!

Heck yeah!! I did. This past cycle, I didn't even feel like ovulated, Diet has tremendously reduced my PH (3.8-5.5<-- OV). When I tested on CD 13 (usually testing 4x/day), got a +opk, on 2nd test. had lots of EWCM, that day. 10 HOURS later, I hardly had any EWCM. next day (CD 14) I was a sticky/dry. is it possible I did not OV? or ovulated within 10 hours of the +opk (which is complete opposite of when I had boys. days leading up to OV and OV day, LOts of EWCM, Sex drive was high, OV pain).
I do have the CB digital OPK though. So next cycle I will test with 2 different kinds. I hear the regular sticks are good, because lines get darker AS you get CLOSER to OV and start to fade as OV ends, I think. Any recommended brands, from Target or CVS??

HAHAHA! I did the SAME thing! I'd wake up and get him from his moses basket, unbelievably sleepy, and feed him while BBC 24 hour news was on so I could see sort of what time I started and stopped and also to keep me awake, then I'd get him all nicely tucked back into his moses basket when he was done... and go back to bed, only to jump straight awake from a deep sleep and COMPLETELY forgot that I even put him back to bed and thought he was still attached to me or under the blankets suffacating.... only to look at the end of the bed and see he was nicely tucked in and having zero memory of it. It was craaaaazy!
