To what extend does clomid heighten the chances of a twin conception, does anyone know? And do all those other factors play a role in addition when taking clomid, ie age, number of children, etc, I mean does that enhance chances even further?
Oh and finally, AS, do we know why clomid sways girl, only because it reduced CM??

Hope you feel better soon, Atomic, I got those supplemetns with my son that I only had to take once a day... I started taking them for the 3rd trimester and come birth my iron levels were up to almost 12....

Clomid increases twinning greatly, but the exact number depends on how much you take and possibly on what days you take it. You're correct that other factors like family history, previous multiple pregnancy, age, etc. further increases your odds of twinning with Clomid.

We honestly don't know why Clomid sways pink. It lowers estrogen but raises testosterone. The lower estrogen dries up CM and other fluids in the reproductive tract (and people on Estrace or using Robitussin/Mucinex to counteract that, seem to have more boys while taking it) so I believe that's how it sways, by affecting CM negatively.

Sorry if that's a stupid question - I've never been anemic during pregnancy (or even not pregnant), so not sure what the appropriate treatment would be. I assume it could be as simple as iron supplements? Either way, praying it all gets sorted out. **hugs**
Yes, they prescribed iron supplements but I bought a brand which I preferred because it's more easy to absorb. I was already taking 100% RDA of iron in my prenatal, but iron is hard for some people to absorb. I've been eating a lot more red meat, dark meat chicken, eggs, beans, almonds, molasses, etc. which has not been very pleasant because this baby DOES NOT like meat or eggs and I really have to choke it down. I'm still kinda grossed out from a chicken thigh I had for dinner last night. I have fortified cereals too but that's not the kind of iron that's easily absorbed.

This is actually the 4th time I've been anemic (twice in pregnancy, twice not) so it's not a huge deal to me, but it is the first time I've felt lousy because of it and also the first time I had such a hard time eating meat.

Your iron stores at 28 weeks pregnant are at their lowest point, because you've just increased your blood supply and the baby sucks up tons of iron around that point in preparation, in case it's born prematurely. So even if I hadn't ever found out I was anemic, I would have recovered over time, but the supplements and change in diet will only help it clear up sooner. I do already feel quite a bit better, I hadn't realized how bad I actually felt.

Going on 29 weeks!! It's funny because I feel like a lot of you guys are further along than I am and then I see people's tickers and I'm like WTH is going on here!!

Amari, when you used the Preseed, remember it had been many months on Clomid and you NEEDED the Preseed just to conceive because by that time your estrogen levels were lowered. It's a very different ballgame to someone who uses Clomid plus Estrace, Robi/Muci, and Preseed in the first month on Clomid when their estrogen hasn't had time to drop.
