    I think girl.

Also, re measuring ahead, when you're early on in pregnancy, they are not going off the size of the baby, they're going off the actual developmental stage the baby is in. They can look for structures forming and pinpoint the age of the baby with high reliablility. Only into the late second and third trimester, does the baby start getting larger or smaller due to diabetes or any other factor. No baby at 12-13 weeks has any body fat or can be heavier than another baby; all their energy is going into developing, not putting on weight. So the good news is, you do not need to worry about diabetes, the bad news is, you may have conceived earlier than you believe that you did.

Thanks everyone! I'm thinking the second pic and those horizontal lines are looking more girl than boy though not clear enough to feel positive. The thing is, I saw those lines several times, always long, flat, level with spine. The best view was with babe rotated towards us and there was a pretty good nub view with the lines looking just like they do in pic2. Definitely long with lines under and very flat, but then I've just seen a nub like that which was actually boy! Ahhhh - don't want to get my hope up given that, but there was a real sense it was a girl based on the nub while I watched.

Oh atomic thanks for that about sizes! Thing is I am positive I could only have o-d a max of 36 hrs before when I marked in, and most likely only 24. Definitely not even 3 days and impossible to have been 6 so maybe the measurements were out - it was a midwife in training doing them but her supervisor agreed. I'm only worked if it means any pressure to induce if I go overdue again though!

Looks like the baby has its hands down there, too hard to guess.

Cinss - which pic did you mean about the hands? I know for the second one that baby's hands were up round the face just before the pic was taken but yes, I'd have thought the arm nearest to us would be showing more! Hmmm - another thing to wonder about...

    Anyone else got any thoughts?
