Unless you are eating lavender (the soap is so good smelling, I could actually eat it), I don't see why it matters what it is. Phytoestrogen or steroid.
Phytoestrogens are incredibly complicated and affect the estrogen receptors in your body. It depends on what you read if they are good for ttc a girl or not. Its not something you can just point at and say "YES!!!" because honestly, show me that thing you can point at and say it 100% sways girl. I haven't found that one thing yet.Prob because we are all so different and have no snapshots of what is going on in our bodies...phytoestrogens may sway for one woman, but not another and there is no way of knowing so you have to shoot a dart and hope it hits.

Large amounts of Lavender will lower your estrogen if it is high, it will balance it if it is low. It can lengthen your cycles and it won't lower Testosterone.
If you have high estrogen it seems like it would be good for a girl sway since it binds with estrogen sites but is only 2% as effective as estrogen. If you ave low estrogen and a short cycle it would probably help get a BFP but I'm not sure about the sway factor.
If you wanted to use lavender I would say the most effective method would be a diffuser and topical application of an essential oil. Just using soap or lavendar scented candles (which is likely artificial) isn't going to do anything.

Sorry I've been looking for this post everywhere because I never had a chance to come back and answer it from my "big" computer.
Phytoestrogens don't work the same way for swaying that some people claim that they do. They are not bioidentical to your body's own estrogen and can actually interfere in the way your body makes and produces estrogen. So it is really unclear how phytoestrogens sway - in some instances they can lower estrogen functionally (by making it work less well and sending a signal to your body that you have a lot of estrogen) while at the same time seeming to raise it in other ways. It's really muddled and not even the smartest researcher on the planet knows how it works - and it may be different for each individual anyway.!!!
