We were told we won't have a gender scan untill 20-21 weeks
I was really hoping for a sooner one. There is a private place called storkvision 2 hours away from me that will do gender ultrasounds at 18 weeks for 150$. My sister is a nurse and she advises against going that early. Is it worth it to find out 2-3 weeks early??? & how accurate is it at 18 weeks? I just can't decide. .

If the tech is properly trained, a scan at 18 weeks is very, very accurate. In the UK they offer private gender scans from 16 weeks and my doctor has already told me too that from 16 weeks you should get a reliable result baby permitting.

How far along were you in first pic? And I agree a gender scan at 18 weeks should be pretty accurate xx

Every single forum I posted my 12 week scan in everyone - EVERYONE - said girl from multiple photos and angles. At 16 weeks it was VERY obviously a boy. I would pay for a private scan at 16 weeks. They are hardly ever wrong at 16 weeks if the baby cooperates and you should be able to see it yourself in the photos which will ease any doubt that others are wrong. Personally I wouldn't base a single thing on a 12 week scan.

Also, just to add, my images were also clearer than yours. Doesn't mean it's not a girl, but I wouldn't get too caught up in it. I did and it was hard to readjust to having a boy four weeks later after thinking it was a girl all that time (not that I would change him for a girl now, but the flip flopping at the time was hard).

18 weeks would be very accurate, but I don't think it's worth $200 and 4 hours to find out 2-3 weeks early. I am as impatient as they come, too. I just think that is not much earlier and really far away.
