I'm a very healthy eater and with my boys I ate small meals every 4 hours so def want to do the opposite haha. Is 5 hours enough time?Thank you for your input!! :-)
This is largely down to what works for each individual person and cannot be a blanket prescription across the boards. I have a fast metabolism and am always hungry and I ate 3 meals a day every day. I just pushed back my breakfast as long as I could. So i would eat at 10:30-noon depending on when I had gotten up and when I was hungry, then again midafternoon, and then again sometime before bedtime. I coulnt'd go to sleep on an empty stomach. So sometimes that ended up being only 4 hours between meals, sometimes more like 6. If you're eating mostly carbs and do not have PCOS or IR, your blood sugar will have time to drop in that time period. The important thing is that nice long run at night, between bedtime and when you ahve your first meal in the morning. 12 hours- ok, 16 hours - fantastic.

Your needs can even change from day to day, so please don't beat yourself up if one day you can;t make it as long as you could another day. the foods you eat, the amount of running around you do, your metabolism and where you are in your menstrual cycle can make you have different levels of appetite from one day to the next and it's fine to stay flexible from day to day and not feel like you ahve to stick to a strict schedule. It is GOOD for boy moms who are sometimes more tightly wound, to play things by ear a little bit!!

I had three meals in between my other hours. I couldn't maintain caloric intake at a healthy level if I wasn't eating 3 times. But others might be able to do it (I needed more because of nursing). I don't know that there is an ideal number, just giving your body lower blood sugar for any amount of time beyond what you used to should help your sway.
great point - it can also make it much easier to maintain a healthy level of caloric intake eating 3 meals a day vs. two. Less is not better - remember, you guys need to be in with 1500-1800 calories and for some people eating 900 cal at one/two sittings is not going to be possible. Eating 3 600 cal meals may be more doable.

i normally eat like a Hobbit - first breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, lunch, teatime, dinner, supper, and bedtime snack so for me, switching to 3 meals a day squinched in between noon and 8 pm was HUGE!! Don't try to OVERDO - being superstrict looks good on paper but in reality it can undermine your sway to try to reach goals that are overly difficult. Either you fall short and fail (makes you more likely to give up all togehter) or else you overdo it and end up stopping ovulation (also making it more likely to give up all together.) This is such and informative thread! Awesome!

I usually have a cup of peppermint tea in the morning, a crystal light packet around 10 and then lunch around 12-2pm depending, I eat around half my calorie intake then and then have dinner again around 5pm, when I have the other half of my calories. In between I drink tea with no calorie sweetner or a crystal light.

Tonight I had a hardcore blood sugar crash (like fell asleep on the couch after sitting down for five minutes) so I ate a bunch of nerds and ice cream around 8:30pm but most nights I'm able to keep at least 15 hours between my dinner and my first meal of the day the next day. Hoping all that really adds to my sway. Most days I don't get my hour of cardio in until after the kids go to bed around 9 or 10 pm.

(Also, are those two-bite cupcakes a good source of omega 6 fat? Because I always need an excuse to buy and eat those.)

Just wondering as I've noticed palm oil in my sons teddy Graham's. do you know if palm or soybean oil is considered omega 6 or omega 3?

2011 - Matthew (who is the light of my life) in 2013 for delivery some time in 2014

Came to this website in September 2013 hoping to sway for a girl as we have none on either side of our families (6 boys total). Diagnosed in January 2014 elevated FSH level and extremely low AFC count. Praying and hoping God blesses me with one more healthy child whether it be another boy or a girl. Praying my RE can help me to achieve my dream of giving my son a sibling some time soon.
