So your living conditions, which your body uses diet to judge, has much more of an effect on your baby's chances of survival/reproduction than your DH's do. Your body doesn't know that we live in a world with grocery stores and a nuclear family, it still thinks we're on the savannah - and on the savannah, the mamas who are in submissive roles and/or get the least access to good foods have more of a chance of passing down their genes to the next generation if they have daughters rather than sons. And this is true even in animals/humans that live in a harem, where the babies are all fathered by the same dad!!

The thing that sways in males is related to sperm count. Optimal sperm count goes hand in hand with high testosterone and good physical condition/large size, so in males, optimizing sperm count is what sends that signal that their male offspring are a good "bet" for their genes. So while eating a boy-friendly diet can certainly help with that, a guy can eat a boy-friendly diet all day long and if your sperm count is low because of other reasons (aka regular or special cigarettes or being overweight) that's what sways.

Long story I know but nutshell version - being overweight sways a lot more for a guy than the boy-friendliness of his diet because being overweight can lower his sperm count. On the other hand, boy-friendliness of diet sways more in a woman because a mother's diet is more indicative of the environment her offspring will be born into. (hope that makes sense?!?)
yes it does make sense. thank you. it makes me feel better and more relaxed towards DH/ you just stopped a lot of fights atomic! hahah.
i guess i was thinking more along the lines of having more male sperm present when even leaving dh's body (even if its like 51-49 male-female ratio). and that if we were to change the chemistry of dh's semen (high potassium/sodium, pH, whatever etc) via diet then more male sperm would be likely to thrive in THAT environment even before leaving dh's body, make a smooth transfer to ewcm rich in nutrients/boy diet elements and give us a BIGGER chance to get our boy...? heheh.

But the problem is that there never is less than 50-50 boy and girl sperm. Men make 50-50 sperm and then when something happens that reduces a guy's sperm count or kills off some sperm, that affects all the sperm equally. The idea that X sperm are hardier, it's just not true and has been debunked. http://genderdreaming.com/forum/show...-X-AND-Y-SPERM!!! Through sheer chance, some more of one sex sperm might die off but it's not because X are strong and Y are weak, it's just from luck...it would be unbelievable if exactly the same number of both genders die off, KWIM???

There is NO reliable evidence that X or Y sperm thrive in any different mineral content. All the mineral stuff is speculation. No one has ever witnessed X or Y sperm having any different electrical charge and in fact, when they do Microsort, they actually have to ADD a drop of liquid with an electrical charge in order to sort them out.
