I have seen many ladies Peak too early with both CBAD and CBFM. But better too soon than too late...
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

It should be a good example, not to trust only CBAD. It was perfect for me the entire year but left me when I need it the most 😔

These tests confuse me. I don't know the brand (paper stick type, dip in pee, came in foil wrappers) I used but with my last pregnancy but I knew that the line had to be darker than the test line. I don't know how you would know if it was a false peak for sure or not.
I just know I was aiming for cut off (which I know now was pointless due to all I've read on here), but I got my lh surge (pos opk) within 12 hrs of of dtd. I also had a positive 24 hrs later. So idk.... It baffles me.

You don't know if it's a false peak or not. You know when AF arrives and you remember back 14 days or so (hoping that your LP was actually 14 days LOL)
I agree a sucky system but it's all we have.
Using OPK for cutoff is a dicey business anyway for the exact reasons you mention. Most people going for cutoffs try to dtd with a fade in rather than wait for true positive, but what invariably happens is that they track and chart for months before TTC, and then the month they are ready to start trying, their OPK goes positive in an entirely different pattern and it's all blown to heck anyway.!!! Either. The reason being, some months/people never get a true pos and I have seen too many people wait and wait for pos OPK that never comes. The important thing is not to have an attempt right when your OPK is positive (because that's totally irrelevant) but to be in with an attempt that happens before ovulation without being too far before. So that's what you're really aiming for and if that for you ends up being with a dark fade in, just dandy.
