Hmmm...So interesting b/c when we had to put our 16 yr old dog down and then DH accidentally killed one of our others a week to the day later I could not eat AT ALL.
It was a major grief and depression kind of stress. However, when I am stressed about other things like when DH was out of town for a week, I noticed I tended to want to eat more. I think not all "stress" is the same. I think the lighter type of stress would sway "boy" for me while the really deflating/depressing/helpless type of stress would more likely sway "girl"...???

I am a major emotional eater! This is why I have found myself cheating on the low everything diet.
It's hard since I am around food 24/7 and always feeding someone else!
DS1 was conceived while I was not at my lightest weight ever and I was at a very stressful job. I can remember snacking a lot during the day just to make it through it! DS3 was conceived when I was once again heavier than what I consider my normal weight.....but I was not super stressed.
Now, I am very stressed and this past year my Mother passed away after a very short battle with cancer. It was definitely the most difficult year of my life. Next month it marks her one year passing and the emotions and stress are very high right now.... However, I REALLY want to conceive (regardless of gender) in August to help "heal" and focus on new life....
ETA: I did start an organization in honor of my mother... she passed from a very rare form of cancer.. if you are interested in seeing my website ... please message me.

Nope for me all stress=less food. When simply busy at work and just running around with errands I just forget to eat seriously I am not making this up. Or I remember and I just say don't have time let me finish this and then I will eat. I suppose stress does effect people differently and a lot of people are emotional eaters as well and eat a lot when feeling depressed. Obesity I thought is generally connected to depression, but again depends on the person.
Sorry about your mother happyheart and GL with your attempt and your organisation

Please don't despair, because it's the KIND of stress and your response to it that matter.
Chronic stress where you feel that you have no control over the situation tends to sway pink, but chronic stress where you are freely taking on and overcoming challenges sways blue, not pink.
Anything that lowers testosterone (losing, failing, feeling inadequate) sways pink while things that raise testosterone (winning, meeting goals, feeling successful) sway blue.!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!

I completely and totally agree. There are so many variables at play that you simply can't look at something as vaguely defined as "stress" and say it sways one way or another. It is very likely your emotional/physical response to stress that matters and that response is unique to every individual in every different circumstance.
Something to consider that muddles things even further is the idea that individuals have different temperaments to begin with and may even pick different occupations BECAUSE they are higher/lower in T to begin with. In fact, a study was done on this idea and it's very interesting reading http://www.danechristensen.net/stuff/Job-Child.pdf!!! Questions??Check out the NEW and improved Complete Index !!!
