Do you think the same of Cranberry rainbow? I think it's scary the amounts I see some ladies taking when swaying!

zana - I think extreme levels of most supps can be risky without medical supervision! Some of them can cause long term damage if you take too much (i.e. Vit B6). I think aspirin. I don't know about cranberry as I haven't done any research on that... but if you don't exceed the dosage on the bottle I think it'd be fine.

The cranberry I have says to take 1-4 per day (200mg cranberry powder, equivalent to 5000mg per capsule), but it also says to talk to a doctor if you're pregnant or TTC... they could just be covering their backs, though, if no research has proved its safe rather than research proving it's risky.

swish, have a look here: http://www.babycenter.com/404_is-it-...ncy_1357403.bc

Studies have linked aspirin to various pregnancy complications. A few studies show that taking aspirin around the time of conception and in early pregnancy is associated with an increased risk of miscarriage. And some researchers believe that taking aspirin at adult doses during pregnancy might affect the baby's growth and may slightly increase the risk of a placental abruption.

Here's a previous post on a similar subject:

I was happy to take it. I took it every 3 days leading up to our sway, the night of our attempt and every day in the 2ww and now I'm gradually weaning myself off it.

I am on clomid and will be starting my second round soon. I am reconsidering my sway and thinking about what I need to cut out or reduce to conceive more quickly.

My sway is clomid, folic acid, LE diet, lots of diet coke and CL (from af to o, since I didn't drink it during the 2ww), DH drinking lots of diet coke and CL too, frequent BD and through ovulation, and a few ion things.

I will be adding preseed to my sway.

My dh wants me to start my prenatal again. He thinks that it may be hurting our chances of conceiving. Is this true??? Is there anything about taking the prenatal that will help us hold onto a conception? We are pretty certain that I had a chemical this cycle.

    Thank you for any help!!!

    Any suggestions as well!!
The thing with prenatals is, Vitamins A, D, E, K, iron, and B12 are stored in ample supply in the body. The other B vitamins, Vitamin C, and the minerals are all supplied amply by the LE Diet. Most prenatals don't even HAVE calcium (and calcium is stored by your body anyway). That leaves folic acid, which everyone should be taking anyway and iodine (everyone should use iodized salt and that is not in most prenatals anyway).

In order for vitamin deficiency to negatively affect fertility to the point where you are unable to conceive, you have to be seriously deprived of food for a long time. Like, years even. But I do believe your body can "detect" lower levels of nutrients right away and that is what does the swaying. You have a nice long cushion of time in which you can be on a very restrictive diet and remain fertile, and the LE diet is NOT very restrictive and in fact I designed it to be a diet that a person can spend a lifetime on and remain in perfect health.

Remember, most babies ever born on the face of the planet (including many of us) were conceived by women who were not taking prenatals and certainly not prior to pregnancy. When I was pg with DS 1, they didn't sell prenatals over the counter, they were prescription only and you started them after the first trimester!!!

Are you taking baby aspirin? I was taking it less regularly leading up to our attempt but every day during the 2ww and I'm weaning myself off it now. I believe the way that helps is that it thins the lining so that there's more veins and stuff for the bean to hold in to (I think I Lola wrote this somewhere!). I believe it's sometimes recommended to take with Clomid too.
Yes, that is exactly how it is said to work and it is commonly given to everyone doing HT and also many people who are on Clomid.

Aspirin is believed to be safe in early pregnancy, it's only later on and particularly in the last trimester that it is dangerous. Most doctors believe that it can't hurt and may help prevent miscarriage, regardless of whether or not you have a clotting disorder. People with a clotting disorder have to take it throughout their pregnancy.

It could def. be dangerous/risky is placenta previa or placental abruption but in most cases, those things do not begin to pose problems until later into the pregnancy. That's why it's best to wean off it slowly once you get a BFP, just in case.

It is fine to do so Swish. All the HT ladies take it under advisement by their doctors.
