Thread: Any chance?

42 is absolutely fine - I had DS3 and DD after that..and know quite a few mums who've also had babies at 43 and 44. Have a lovely holiday though and try and put on a little weight as that is tiny. Good luck xx

FL that is very thin! I am almost 6 feet and I weigh 160lbs. Your BMI is 16.1! I think you should put on a few lbs. At your age (and I am not trying to insult, I am 43) you need to put some weight on or you risk not ovulating at all!

I had my daughter at 42 and while I'm sure people might have had some opinions, they never said anything about them to my face anyway. Honestly, I feel more energetic because I wasted so much time and energy over stupid things when I had my first two boys at much younger ages that I feel like I have an improved focus on the things that really matter with the kids, and I let go of the small stuff a lot more. Anyone who says "I don't have energy" or whatever stupid things that they say, I feel sorry for them. I'd hate to be that exhausted at only 42 years old!!

You do need to at the least stop the weight loss. That is way, way too thin for my liking.

Thanks for all your wise words ladies. Well I didn't get my bfp, my cycle was 38 days long which has never ever been that long before so I'm guessing being drastically underweight delayed my ovulation.
I'm taking a short break and have managed to put 7 lbs on already. My head is so mixed up, going from 5 failed ht cycles and eating mega healthy then straight into swaying and cutting food groups out which had been my staple for so long, I can't remember what it's like to not think about what I have to eat rather than just going with the flow iykwim. 75% of the time I'm ok with not having anymore babies but that 25% is soooo hard to get through it chokes me just thinking about it. (It sure doesn't help that we've just dropped our eldest back at uni for his second year). We are going away on holiday in a few weeks then I just want to have a Christmas eating what I fancy then I hope I will know by then if I want to carry on with trying for another.
I still keep popping back on here to keep up with all of your journeys so lots of luck to you all and congratulations on your bfp squiggle such fab news. X

Frilly Lady, I just wanted to let you know that maternity age in my country has risen so much and in my kids' kindergartens and classes are 40+ with bellies.
Just last week a work friend gave birth at 45 (and thank god, she and the baby (born week 36) are home and healthy!!) - these things are possible!
I hope you have a lovely holiday and have my fingers crossed for you
