I don't know, either way it's a pain in the arse eh?

I found out today (because I asked!) that DH has basically always done frequent release. I'm glad I know! So now, as well as making sure he doesn't go any more than 24 hrs between releases (and I'm letting him worry about this - less stress for me) we're going to DTD the morning after I get my +OPK, having released at bedtime the night before. So, one attempt on O day. I guess this might be too much in terms of lowering sperm count, but maybe not if frequent release is the normal for him!!

Sounds good to me. Did he do this (frequent release) when you were conceiving your other children?

He thinks so. It's quite funny really, we have a 'normal' 2-3 times a week relationship together but he seems to count 'this' as part of his morning routine - along with getting a shower and brushing his teeth! I'm just really happy to leave this side of the sway up to him so it's one less thing for me to stress about.

Ha, ha! If that's normal for him I think you have a good plan, you definitely need to lower his sperm count!!

You're getting off easy, zana! My DH prefers me to help him release every night, which gets quite exhausting, honestly - especially after the 7th night in a row!

I know, I was dreading this! Of course I'll still be involved but not every day (I hope!).

This is going to sound terrible, but the worst part is feigning interest every night. If he even sensed I was getting bored, he'd be so offended he'd refuse to continue.

7dpo today and I still can't shake the feeling that I'm not pregnant. I mentioned to dh today that we'd have to take a month off if we don't get pregnant this month, and he really doesn't want to. He seems to think his mother could come all the way from the other side of the country to help us out, despite the fact that she only visits once a year and has yet to offer even once to watch the kids on her own to help us out. I'm just not comfortable TTC not knowing if we'd have anyone to take care of the kids while I'm in the hospital and help out with getting the older kids to school + entertaining ds3 all day, doing laundry, etc. in those first few days home with the new baby. My due date would be something like June 6th, and my Mom has a trip planned on June 8th for 3 weeks!

{hugs} mocha, only you know what's right ... but if you had a little 'oops' then the timing wouldn't have been thought out and you'd have figured out a way anyhow and who's to say how close to their due date a baby will actually choose to arrive. FX you get a BFP this month and it's not even an issue!

After checking DH's pH this morning I'm convinced we'll have another boy anyhow. I posted separately but basically, I put a test strip on some 'stuff' and I'm pretty sure it was a 10! Have you all tested your DH's pH? I hadn't planned to but it was there (don't ask!) and I did it on the spur of the moment. Wish I hadn't bothered really!

Every time I've tested DH's PH it's been a 7, and since I have low ionic strength, my PH becomes a 7 as soon as we DTD. I wouldn't worry about it, though, Z. Maybe get him to drink lots of Diet Coke for the next couple of weeks.

Oh, and thanks for the kind words about my situation. You're right about the 'oops' pregnancy thing, except that I know if it was an Oops my Mom would cancel the trip she's so excited about to be with me (I know she would even though I would never ask her to), and I don't want her to do that for me because of a conscious decision I made. It's just that we have no one in town who can watch our kids for us. I have lots of Mom friends, but they all have young kids too, so the most I could ask would be a couple hours here and there. What if I end up being in the hospital for days? Last time I was home in 2 hours, but you never know - I could end up with another c-section....
