Now that my 19 week scan is booked I can't stop obessing about the sex. It is starting to consume me, to the point I am not sleeping. I think this week is worse as I am off work and have time to myself. Anyone feeling the same? What are you doing to stop thinking about it? I am now thinking maybe I should go to early gender scan but I know my husband will think to just wait for 4 weeks.

Tell me about it! My scan is a week away, and I have been obsessing for probably about a month. It's funny, but the closer it gets, the calmer I get. I am pretty sure it's a boy. I even started crocheting him a blanket. I decided I wanted to make one in aqua this time because I'm sick of baby blue. I picked out some yarn I really like and I started the blanket two days ago. I know it's silly, but to have something I'm excited about doing for a new baby boy really makes me happy. So that is one way I am passing the time. I also planned a play date with some of my best friends from college (and their kids, lol) on Monday, and my son has an appointment on Tuesday. And then on Wednesday, my mom has the day off, so we are going to go out together and go baby clothes shopping after my scan. It'll be good to buy a few new boy things.
So that's my plan. When is your scan?

Jennaesue, it is not until the 13 March. I looked up early gender scan places and they werent as expensive as I thought they would be. I just don't want to feel the way I am feeling for the next 4 weeks. I like your idea of doing soemthing for the baby. I actually just went out shopping and stopped at a few baby shops. I saw the baby bedding I really like and it was on sale so I decided to buy it. It is boy colouring, so I kind of feel a bit better now that if it is a boy I have started to prepare myself. They said I have 3 months to take it back so I am safe if I need to return it. Wow next week, not long for you to find out. Good luck, I really hope you hear girl.

Does anyone have any suggestions for sleeping. I am having trouble falling asleep and when I do I wake up a lot during the night sometimes for hours at a time. It is making me exhausted during the day and barely able to focus at work or on my homework in the evening. I am not uncomfortable at all yet so I don't think that it has anything to do with that I just can't sleep. Is anyone else having or had problems sleeping while pregnant? I would love some advice.

Are you worrying about anything? I am not sleeping well but my issue is when I wake up I start thinking about work and the sex of the baby and that is why I can't get to sleep.

I listen to my hypnobirthing tracks on my ipod while falling asleep. I have the best nights sleep after them, as in I usually sleep thrugh the night compared to the nights I don't listen to them maybe sleep for 4 hrs then awake twisting and turning in the bed before falling asleep for less then an hr before the alarm goes off. I also go for reflexology every 2nd week and don't need the track's after those sessions as I am so relaxed after. Have one tonight at 8 so DH has no chance of getting lucky on Valentines as I will be comatose in the bed by 10 pmDDChristmas 2010

Hi Ladies...yes the sleep ordeal. I have been having trouble sleeping for a while now. I thought it was because I was obsessing too much about the gender of my baby. But now that I know the gender of my baby...I am STILL waking up in the middle of the night. Oh well, I know it is a pain but just think how much sleep we will be loosing once these precious bundles come out, lol. Sorry I don't have any remedies but I just wanted to chime in and say YES I am definitely in the same boat.
