ok just got my BW back

    my estrogen is 2026
    progestrone 1.19 LH 18.9

so, i'm at risk for multiples but RE is more concerned that we missed the surge and i would get a boy. their suggestion is to forgo this cycle, since we missed timing. still do clomid next cycle but monitor me more closely to not miss the surge. what's frustrating is, i tested all weekend and didn't get anything close to a +. Also, we DTD on saturday but protected because i didn't want to mess up the one attempt. if anyone has an insight, i would love to hear it. also, should i PM Atomic with this info? again, if i would have not been monitored, would i even know this is a problem and had our attempt tonight? also, have to decide about timing. do i risk having another xmas baby and hope it's a girl?

Lace-i don't know how you do it. i do think that waiting to ovulate is worse then the 2WW. at least with the 2WW, its out of your control at this point.

Smarston- I don't have experience with Clomid, but I have lots with being in limbo. Hang in there! I agree with Lace, and I would switch to Atomic's fertility diet since you will be on it so long before your next attempt.

TaytumJ- I sure hope you O soon! Hang in there! It took my body a bit to normalize after stopping BC a few years back. It will happen!

I haven't gotten a positive opk, but my temps show I may have Oed 3 days ago. This has never happened to me! I'm not sure what to make of it, but we BDed well so we will see. For some reason I'm not feeling it this cycle, but what do I know [emoji6]! I am having a hard time not snacking and have had an increase in appetite for the past 2 days. Progesterone production? Strict exercise + Yoga? Who knows! I am over it already!

Not getting a +OPK doesn't mean you didn't O, might've missed the surge or maybe the OPK didn't work for you. Really, that's why CP charting is so useful!!

I've already given up on the one attempt thing....with my very unpredictable O it was driving me bonkers. We've already switched to bd'ing every 3-4 days because from my personal past history I just can't get preggo if we bd more than 36 hours out from O.

Hah and are you kidding, waiting to O is the easy part for me, BECAUSE I have control and can do something besides waiting around! The 2ww is the WORST for me exactly because there's nothing I can do but wait. And obsess. UGGGGGH.

just another thought...is RE thinking i missed timing for a girl because he believe's shettles? i consulted with him back in January for IVF/PGD. so, when he was on the phone just now, he says, "you had a great response to the clomid so we could do IVF without much meds"....is he money hungry? again...just thinking out loud

Well Shettles has been totally debunked. And I'm envious you actually told your RE about swaying!!! Outside of HT I've never heard of an RE that puts any credence into sway theory.

so yeah, that's their concern, that i missed the timing for a girl...because i'm starting to surge and we should have DTD before the surge..but, haven't "we" "proved" that's not the case? oh girls, don't know what to do. and i need to get my thoughts together before i talk to DH.

Uhm. That would be Shettles cutoff and it's a MYTH! It doesn't work and girl sperm do not swim slower than boy sperm. At all. Your RE is seriously out of date if he thinks that works, because it doesn't!!

Diet and lifestyle are #1 on the sway. Ignore all the cutoff stuff because it doesn't work at all. Bd'ing you should aim for one attempt at +OPK, but if that's getting too difficult just BD every 3-4 days throughout the fertile period and you'll be fine.

thanks lace!! I truly appreciate everyone's thoughts. my friend (the RE PA) knows exactly what i'm doing and why, how long etc. once she asked the RE(guy i consulted with) is when she said he thought based on my numbers that i am starting to surge TODAY and we should have attempted YESTERDAY because he thinks we need to attempt BEFORE the surge...

    Nope.

First, unless you have fortune telling skills, how in the world can you attempt *before* the surge?!? Not even blood tests and U/S monitoring at the RE can tell you when you will surge with any reliable accuracy.

So let's say you nail it and attempted the day before the surge. Then the next day you get a +OPK. But, think about it.....your actual ovulation takes place anywhere from 35-48 hours AFTER the +OPK. So that means your bd attempt may end up being as much as 72 hours before the egg arrives. For many of us that's too long and results in nil chance of any sperm left still alive. For me I can't even catch the egg if I BD more than 36 hours out.

In any case there is no point in using cutoffs because Shettles has been disproven over and over again. So it's all moot anyways.
