I take blood builder too! I've heard good things about it from others, we'll see if it boosts my iron at the next appointment.

Well ladies, this pregnancy just continues to be a challenge...apparently I have been spilling protein in my urine since my 18 week appointment and then again at my 22 week appointment. She ordered a 24 hr urine collection for a baseline which I completed on Wednesday. My urine protein results are <164mg and normal is considered <150mg so I'm a bit above normal. My blood pressure is LOW! 98/64 to 113/64. Does anyone have any experience with pre-eclampsia? I've read where some ladies BPs start low and then spike. I've never had BP issues in my life nor in my past 2 pregnancies. I always run low. Thanks for any input ladies.

Well I know that's not the problem...I eat about 120g of protein every day. Could I be eating too much? This was my normal pre-pregnancy and I haven't changed my diet.

if you are spilling it, then its too much. 120g is quite a bit and alot of protein taxes the kidneys. i would cut back on the protein, added oils and fats and up your starches. how is your sodium intake? try doing a 3 day food log to see whats going on with diet.

Thanks ladies. I'm kind of a fitness/dietary person. I help people lose weight for a living. It's hard for me, mentally, to eat too many carbs and starches but I guess that's what I'm going to have to try. I haven't used my fitness pal in a while and actually logged my food but I may do that too. I eat mostly fresh foods. Very little is processed and I don't add extra salt to anything so I think my sodium intake should be okay but I'll check it out.
My creatinine was ok at 1.43...I guess my kidneys are compensating for the time being.
Thanks for your input!

well, starches have gotten a bad rep, but there's tons of people who have lost lots of weight and corrected autoimmune disease by ditching excess protein and fats and replacing them with starches. from a fitness and weight perspective, my most successful clients have been those on high starch diets, my low carbers had very little success compared to my high carbers. food for thought, no pun intended haha.
I have managed to keep this pregnancy under control by doing just that. It started with food aversion and then I took it on as an experiment. No weight gain and I'm in the same clothing (minus a few shirts as most of my shirts were on the short side) at 6 months of pregnancy. No protein in urine, no GD, no BP issues. Pretty neatHope it all clears up for you Roe! <3

Have you ever checked out Blue Ribbon Baby diet?
I would be making some modifications if I could - perhaps it's the type of protein? Something is flagging your body to say "help".
Sorry I'm not better help.
