sage, none of that is particularly new info about CM that's not fairly common knowledge already.
First, there's no such thing as 'too much' EWCM. All the link was saying is, if EWCM doesn't dry up then you haven't ovulated, which is true. Bd'ing through dry up is a good strategy for conceiving in general, but a lousy one for swaying pink. Bd'ing every other day then through dry up is how I got 3 boys!! So for pink you really can't do that. But then we all know that swaying pink drops fertility chances, which is kind of the whole sway theory in a nutshell.
Yes EWCM can reduce as you age but that's corresponding to how fertility drops as you age too. No surprise there. Mind you I had lots and lots of EWCM this past cycle, not just in # of days of EWCM but also in quantity. Not sure what's changed, but it's not a guarantee that you'll lose EWCM just because you're older. And a lot of times you might not even get enough to wipe but there IS still EWCM inside up in the cervix which is what counts. Which is why tracking CP/CM is so useful!
Increasing your CM through diet, etc. - good plan for swaying blue, not for swaying pink.![]()
PS. I deleted your duplicate post, hope you don't mind.

I've wondered about CM the past few months. I am not even kidding - on BC I would actually get EWCM (back before I knew it was EWCM, ha), but now I only get "lube" like CM; it's not stretchy though, just really slippery. I'm always afraid this will be a factor in a blue sway. When I hit the big O though when BDing I do notice there is more stretchy CM though, so I'm hoping that's all that matters. I just always feel a little down that I don't get the good stuff all the time!

Taytum, are you checking internally? If there is some inside I wouldn't worry about it. For years I never got even enough to wipe, and I still have all boys.
Now if you can't find any even up in the cervix on +OPK day, I'd be a little concerned. You can try more water and Robitussin to start with and see if that helps. With getting a bit older too, and by that I mean older than 25 and not OLD, I noticed I'd only ever have one true day of EWCM and that was on +OPK day. And that was enough to net me 3 boys, so obviously didn't sway pink for me! Also I bd'ed a LOT, like every other day till +OPK and twice on +OPK day and twice the next day (which was usually O day). Frequency helps sway blue, clearly, and can overcome lack of good amounts of EWCM.
Slippery/watery is still considered fertile but not really ideal.Me (38) and DH (38)

I don't check internally like inside next to cervix, but I check on the outside before using the bathroom (if that makes sense?). Last month I got only one day of EWCM, but I wasn't doing OPKs, but it was about 8 days before AF. I'm wondering if I have a short luteal phase as well. That was on CD31 last month.

TaytumJ- I really believe that it can take the body awhile to readjust once stopping BC. Don't give up! It may take a few cycles, or not!, but it will happen for you! I just know it!

Taytum, try checking inside. Even if you don't find your cervix or are icked out by touching the cervix, you can still feel just inside the vaginal walls and there can be a really big difference between what you find on the surface and what's inside the vaginal canal.
I've had months where I can't find any EWCM except right up by the cervix too.
And yes, it can take a bit to rebalance the hormones after bcp, so don't give up!Me (38) and DH (38)

I'll begin checking internally! Thanks for the support, ladies. I think it's just frustrating when it seems like all of my friends walk by their DH's and get pregnant. I may have to take a break from here until I'm actually in the 2WW. Otherwise, I'm driving myself crazy, which isn't healthy or helping me either. I'll catch back up, soon! [emoji4] thanks for all of your love and support!

You gotta do what you need to do to stay sane! TTC can eat your whole life so easily, especially with living life two weeks at a time...waiting to O, then waiting to test, then waiting for AF, and it can get soul sucking and just plain depressing at times. Hard to keep a perspective too.
And gosh, I've been there. I used to be on birth boards on Babycenter, and boy oh boy lemme tell ya, when the ladies you first cycled with not only conceived but actually HAD their babies and you were still trying and trying.....it gets damned depressing.
So yeah, for sure do what you need to do so you don't end up wrapping your life around TTC, it's not worth your happiness and contentment for sure!Me (38) and DH (38)

smarston, I HATE peeing in cups. The mid****** tests are way better! I am surprised to hear you have 4 big follies...did she give you exact measurements? Unfortunately, you absolutely cannot assume a surge based on LH levels without knowing your baseline LH. I personally don't think you've surged but will very soon. Also, while it's cool your RE supports swaying, I immediately lost all respect for her on hearing she believes Shettles, and WORSE, recommends it, especially considering she should know how bad cut offs are for odds of conception.
In your shoes, I would attempt once at positive OPK (not before!) and just do everything possible (BD once, DH hot bath, Sylk lube, RePhresh, J&D) to reduce sperm count. I will also be waiting until June/July if I don't conceive next cycle, and I hated the wait last year too.
Taytum, there is no evidence suggesting that late O = bad eggs, and many a healthy baby has resulted from a CD100 O date. This obnoxious rumour started bc in some IVF/medicated cycles, late O can (but even then doesn't always) mean reduced quality. The same does not apply to natural cycles.
Lace, I'm so sorry AF came. I know how you feel about great LP temps/short LP bc I have the same thing, always have. It is frustrating but I always figured it's just how my body rolls, since my hormones are all great. I agree the only good thing about a short LP is not having to wait so long to know. But i don't necessarily agree that onky 7DPO or earlier embies implant; I think in cycles that we conceive, our hormones are higher from early own and effectively extend our LPs in those months. At least, I think that's what happens to me, bc I always conceived so fast/eadily. It could be different for you. Enjoy your junk food binge!
maudster, I hope the Wondfos you bought have light blue handles, not gren handles, otherwise they're fakes. You should buy from the Formosa Medical seller, NOT any of the other sellers on amazon.
My Ovulation Chart currently TTC, Cycle #16 since last BFP
TTC #1
- swaying pink on & off since Nov 2013 - hoping for a girl first but excited for either!
Dec 2001 - May 2006 : 5 early abortions of healthy singletons (3 medical @5w, 2 surgical @8w, last 4 pregnancies conceived with late DH, all conceived while TTA/on birth control)
Mar 2012: miscarried B/G twins @5w (conceived 2 cycles after remověng Paraguard copper IUD while NTNP), one twin was ovarian ectopic
Me: 34, widowed, late O + short LP, normal-good hormone levels excepting undetectable testosterone, seeking a known sperm donor/life partner
My sway: vegetarian LE for over 28w, skipping breakfast, fibre (ground psyllium husks) with/before/between meals, physically inactive, drama avoidance, ocassional minimal YesBaby lube as needed, alternate cycles on low dose Clomid, double shot lattes (with meals)
Past sway tactics I've dropped (in order): Vitex, Sudafed, antihistamines, intermittent fasting, one attempt per cycle at positive OPK, one attempt in fertile period

Trying to catch up
smarston3- I would definitely BD yesterday and in 3-4 days
djmommy- I had to start temping again just because I can get so many positive OPK surges in one cycle and temps are the only thing which can really confirm O for me. I hope O comes soon for you!
Sage- I'm liking your chart!
Taytum- I wouldn't worry too much about CM. Some women never realize they have EWCM - I normally only notice it externally once in a cycle. I also wouldn't worry about cycle length yet. The first cycles coming off birth control can be a bit crazy unfortunately but it doesn't necessarily mean anything. If you O soon you are still in a totally normal O timeframe. Here is to hoping you O soon
Maiden- Your chart looks great and your timing was spot on!
Lace- I'm sorry your last cycle didn't work out, and your LP issues. I can imagine that is really frustrating, but as you say it still got you pregnant in the past so it should again.
AFM- I think O is coming soon. I've never O'd before CD16 and my OPK was pretty dark today, and should be positive tomorrow I think. Although it could be an early surge, we'll see if my temps go up or not in a few days. We BD yesterday and I think we will Thursday again as well, depending on what OPKs and CM do. At this point I'm barely swaying and just want to get pregnant. I don't think I can do only 1 attempt but I will try for at least not BD EOD.Enjoying life with my crazy little DS1 2010:
and DS2 2012:
Jan 15- Loss sway baby 12 wks
It's a boy!
